Stability in the Redskins Org? I thought that was a mirage

I hope it works, I really do.
I feel the same way. This is probably the best thing for Campbell's development.

He slunk out of town and phoned in his resignation from a golf course. Danny wasnt sad to see him go but he did not fire him.

I guess this will put me in the minority here, but I would give the coaching staff at least one more season. I want Gibbs back. As head coach only.

Give Saunders another year for his offense to integrate with these players, if we’re as incompetent and inept this time next season, then get rid of him. Williams has proven he can coordinate a top five defense, so I’m not going to throw him under the bus because the players that worked 2 years ago now appear old.

The only thing that needs to change is the director of player personnel. Bring Beathard back, Casserly, pry away Scott Peoli from New England ... something. Anything but the dopes that are in charge now. I know some will disagree, but even those people have to admit that the strategy we have used for the past three seasons with Gibbs, and every other year except for the ‘01 season under Schottenheimer have been an outright disaster.

I agree. Since Gibbs is coming back with entire staff in tow, I hope that they FINALLY will acknowledge that they do not evaluate the draft and free agency well. Also, it would be nice to have someone who is 100% accountable for their selections.

sorry man. i just don't get the optimism. we are 4-8 this year. i'm just tired of this "we're going to go 12-4 this year" before EVERY single season. as much as i absolutely LOVE the redskins, and as much as they are a part of my heart and soul, I think it's time to start getting realistic about the team. we have made the playoffs 2 times in 14 years, yet people seem to think "don't worry, we'll be good next year" it doesn't make any sense to me. redskin fans over the past 14 years, me included, are the most overly-optimistic fans in the history of sports. i think it's time to realize that our beloved, great franchise is no longer that - great.

anyway, i am done with stating the way i feel about the franchise and the coaching staff. and i apologize for having such high expectations for the franchise that i love.

Dont worry about it mason, most on this site dont want to hear the truth because right now as a redskins fan the truth (that this organization is a joke from top to bottom) hurts.

ESPN.com - NFL - Gibbs plans to return as Redskins coach next year (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2686822&campaign=rsssrch&source=washington+redskins)

"As long as I feel like this is where I'm supposed to be, I'm going to be here."

Let's all not forget he all of sudden left us back in the day to be with his son. He said "I felt a tickle on my cheek when he kissed me and realized he had a beard, so I need to be a father." We all respected that, but 3 seconds later he was working 18 hours a day in NASCAR. If someone gets on his case during the offseason, or if we lose out, he could very easily feel this is not where he is supposed to be.
I feel the above quoted comment is his "escape clause". Time will tell.

I don't believe he'll go down losing unless he feels he is being controlled and unable to do what he does best.
