On a side note is ridiculous really that hard to spell?
Seems like a lot of people struggle with that one.

Seems like a lot of people struggle with that one. It's "retarted" SmootSmack 12-04-2006, 01:18 AM I'll let the D off the hook because really we only scored 14 points... On a side note if I may, I saw some interesting research the other day about points scored in a game. Apparently, over the past 25 years, when a team scores 13 points (exactly) in a game, they have won nearly 30% of the time (sample size of approx. 800 games played where one team scored 13 points), meanwhile teams that have scored 14 points (exactly) in a game have won less than 20% of the time (sample size of approx. 800 games playd where on team scored 14 points). Anyhow, thought that was kind of interesting. Longtimefan 12-04-2006, 01:22 AM I'm going with the defense, and it should be plain to see for anyone who watched the game. I don't know what type view TV watchers had of the Norwood touchdown run, but I was on that side of the field, and that was about the worst example of tackling I have ever witnessed, and by more than one player. Vernon Fox wiffed, and Carlos Rogers had a perfect angle to at least knock him out of bounds, and he turned around in circles like he was beginning a balet. That was the most demoralizing play of the game. The play of Jason Campbell was suspect today, but I can live with that because he young and learning. We all knew he was going to make mistakes that may cost us at times, but that's the price we knew we had to pay in developing a young QB. However, that does not mean that the mistakes he made didn't contribute to the negative outcome. We all know the devastating affect turnovers can have on a game, but without a doubt, our defense was our biggest nemisis in today's game. SmootSmack 12-04-2006, 01:29 AM Well I didn't see the game so I can't comment on a goat. I do know though that Rex Grossman had a 1.3 (not a typo) passer rating today, the Texans had -5 total yards passing today, and yet those teams found a way to win. Would be nice if, in spite of whatever struggles JC had, we could have as well. skinsfan69 12-04-2006, 02:07 AM Because he was 18/38 for 217 (5.7 yards an attempt) with 2 INTs. That's not good enough to win. Brunell's worst game wasn't that bad. It's not all his fault (his statline...the game was never in his control), but either way, he didn't get it done today. He wasn't as big as a problem as the defense, but IMO he regressed today. Let's hope he gets back on track vs. Phily. There are going to be days like this so be patient. He is going to need more game experience and the off season. mike340 12-04-2006, 03:06 AM This is the first time I've had to disagree with you Matty. (Your anger is coming out in your posts.) The two of you will have to agree to AGREE. I think if you review your posts (your's and BigC's) you'll find you're both saying the same thing: if one just saw the game and knew nothing of the "history" going in, Jason Campbell is definitely a possible selection as the goat. But if one factors in that it is his third start, he shouldn't be. You are just differing on whether one was supposed to factor this in for the poll or not. (While you were horrified, adjusting for the fact that Springs was out, I thought the defense did reasonably well for much of the game. Even though Vick was completing passes, I felt the pass defense was just a hair off most of the time instead of just looking silly as they did earlier in the season.) irish 12-04-2006, 08:01 AM I voted for other because the goat is Gibbs. He constsntly talks about getting away from what we need to do but the one in charge of keeping the team doing what it needs to do is Gibbs. This loss is on him and he gets my goat vote. backrow 12-04-2006, 08:11 AM I really don't get it. I get it Matty! But I blame MB for this loss as well! :) |
