John Belushi used to say about comedy that "Women have no place in the business."
That's how I feel about sportswriting. They don't belong. And I am not the only one. Watch a women ask Gibbs a question and look at he disdain in his eyes. He often cuts them off mid-question. He shot down Kelli Johnson from CSN yesterday for calling him the C.E.O. of the Redskins. You can see they irritate the shit out of him. In the 80s he took some heat for trying to bar lady reporters from the locker room.
Mr. Cooke also had the proper view of "professional women". He habitually referred to Sally Quinn of the WaPo as "Mrs. Bradley" which would send her into fits of apoplexy. Broads. Ha!
The problem with Sal gal is not that she's woman, but that she's an idiot. Big difference.
