Are any of our Cowboy guests old enough to remember what it's like to LOSE a Championship Game or a Super Bowl? If not, you'll find out this year. Then no more Parcells. Only Jones.
Jesus, the Cowboys only had to be contenders again for half a day and I can, once again, feel that hatred rising in me.

Only game outplayed in was vs NYG. The other 3 losses were primarily due to Dallas leading the league in penalties.
Dallas is in the top 10 in just about every category (offensive and defensive) in the league. Take away HALF of those penaties and the record is much better than 7-4.
It is much easier for me to explain 4 losses than for anyone else to explain the Redskins 7.
You don't lose games by committing penalties alone. You lose games by not making plays when you need to. Likewise you win games by making plays when you need to. Like blocking a potentially winning field goal and then making a winning field goal. Or throwing two long bombs in the span of 2:16 to win the game.
I'll easily explain our seven losses. Our defense stinks, and our offense has been inconsistent at best.

As much as I hate to admit it, Romo does look like the real deal. I'm extremely impressed at how well he moves in the pocket. He's not a "scrambler" per se, though he can run when he needs to, but he really feels the pressure and gets the ball off when he has to.
It also doesn't hurt that he has Terry Glenn and TO to throw to - and Crayton is turning into a good WR as well. I'd argue that Dallas perhaps has the best WR tandem in the NFC. In the NFL as a whole I think the Colts with Wayne and Harrison are still tops.

Uh well YEAH, you do lose by committing an abundance of penalties. Gives your team a long field and the opposition a shorter field. An abundance of penalties create scoring opportunities for the opposition and denies your own team those same scoring chances.
And I dont think your defense stinks at all, just not managed the way they should. And your offense is capable of soooo much more. Who is a better WR Santana Moss or Kenan McArdell? Well that is who Rivers is tossing to. They have LT, yes, but my god, Washington has Clinton Freaking Portis! If the coaches prepared a game plan like they should and use thier key players like they should, the Skins should be in first place in the division. Compare a trio like Portis, Moss and Cooley against McArdell, Gates and LT. LT is the real stud there and I would take Moss over McArdell any day of the week and twice on Sundays. And if given the chance Cooley could really break out.

Penalties are not the result of random bad luck. Dallas got those penalties because they violated the rules of the game. You can say that Dallas would have done this or that if not for the penalties. By the same token, you could say that if Dallas were forced to play within the rules then this or that. Penalties are part of the game. Just like turnovers or running the football or special teams. They're not a seperate category that allows Dallas to claim victim status.

Here's an article for you to read concerning penalties and how overrated they are in terms of winning and losing. They just don't have the effect you are trying to make it out to be.

And yes, our defense does stink. We let too many key players go through free agency, our defensive coaches are to egotistical to understand that it's the players that make the difference and not their scheme. We have two secondary coaches that don't even talk to each other, and an offensive coordinater that won't fix the myriad of problems because he thinks his shit don't stink. Yes, defensively we are a mess. Our offense hasn't been the problem, and it will get even better with Campbell, but it's too little too late. You just can't be a contender if you don't have a defense that can get off the field.
