Who is to blame for all of these rediculous free agent signings, Joe Gibbs or Vinny Cerato? For the money that we spent on Carter, Archuletta, Lloyd, and Randle El (who is the only good one, but still not worth what we're paying him)(BTW their 4 contracts add up to over 120 mil, just think about that), we could have bought 10 good players. Who is responsible for our poor job in the offseason? Personally I think Williams asked for Archuletta, but Carter doesn't seem like his type of player. Also I don't think that Saunders would ask for Lloyd (maybe Randle El, but I don't think he did).

Kidwell was a poster who started a lot of new threads. It was a brief but bizarre episode that was amusing at first and then became a rather ugly spectacle. I don't want to judge you. You seem earnest and it was unfair of me to compare you to him. I was trying to be jocular.

To answer your question, Gibbs has said the buck stops with him. In terms of the defensive players, I suspect that Williams has a huge say in who gets signed. He would have to. IMO, the problem is that they don't have a seasoned personell evaluator who can raise the red flag on Archeletta or Carter and say, "Hold on a minute."

Here is my take on free agents. The people who know these players the best are the coaches they have been playing for. If they aren't going all out to lock them up, then Buyer Beware. For example, the Redskins were the team with the best information about Lavar and his injuries. They didn't want him and alot of other teams took their cues from that. There are exceptions where you can simply outbid a team like we did with Marcus Washington. The Colts wanted to keep him, but they couldn't or wouldn't pay. It's hard to be sure. We need a devil's advocate who is looking at the con side of these players. I'll give you a new name to blame. Lous Riddich(?) is the head of Pro Scouting.

LOL, about the first thing u said about me starting a million new threads, I was planning on asking all the questions I wanted to know and posting my insights that I've had bottled up inside me, It probably would have been like 6 more threads today, but now that I know that pisses people off to do that all at once, I'll spread it out. Thanks for the heads up.

So basically no one knows who is to blame, it is all speculative. Gibbs saying the buck stops here means nothing because he will take responsibility for anything-he's just like that. And that's messed up that we don't have a seasoned personell evaluator, with the amount of changes we make that seems to be what is most important.
