He basically epitomized why I hate the Eagles, and "Dirty Waters" was a very apropo nickname.

That said though, this is very sad. Hate to see someone give up on life like that.

That's always a sad thing to note, someone taking their own life. My prayers go out to his family, as I'm sure they're saddened as well.

Speaking of "Dirty Waters", us Redskin fans will always remember the game when he kneed Doug Williams in the groin. Added to his reputation.

Yeah, death is never a good thing to hear about but suicide is worse IMO. That's a shame though.

I could remind everyone that he also broke Jess Atkinson's leg, but I won't. Thought and prayers are with those close to him. Very sad.

Sad indeed. For some of these guys playing it's great earning the millions and adoration of the fans while they play but a lot of them have nothing in their lives when their careers end. I read Lawrence Taylor's biography and it gave a pretty good insight into what a guy like him goes through when they retire - a guy who is wild and out of control but can do what he likes while he is a star in the protected environment of the team. He can get his aggression out on the field every Sunday. Upon retirement he is cut loose and has nothing to do and no where to go. I don't know what happened in Waters case but he obviously had problems. I guess that's when you need your family and friends to step in.
