well said, i totally agree.
..I never saw the interview though, what did this guy ask Brunell anyway?
Basically after Brunell turned in another poor performace in Philly Czabe said something like this. "Would you ever go to coach Gibbs and tell him to start JC because I'm not getting it done." Brunell was clearly upset at the question and said. " I can't believe that you would even ask me that."
Basically Czabe just said your playing poorly and would you ever pull yourself out of the lineup. I don't think that was out of line. But I can see why Brunell was offended by it. As it turns out Brunell didn't have to pull himself out cause Gibbs benched him the next day. And Campbell looks so much better in the pocket. He made plays in his 1st start that Brunell has not made all year. It's like night and day.

The People's Republic of Ashburn has a rather Stalinist approach to dealing with the media. It doesn't matter if Comrade Czabin is a counter revolutionary or a fucking asshole, those who are responsible for sending him off to the gulag for re-education are choking you off from opinions and information that you as a fan are entitled to.
They may be entitled to that info as a fan but a lot of the kool-aid drinkers and apologists, on this site and elsewhere, just dont want to hear it.
Q. As a fan, I am entitled to_________?????
A. Nothing
Q. What can I as a fan do about this???
A. Insert answer from Q. #1 here

Cry me a river for Brunell, he was getting millions to get a job done, I noticed it did not take him long to cash in on Redskins fever and do radio spots and other ads to make some extra cash. If you are going to be in the limelight, and take all the big $$$, then you better be able to handle the heat. Like it was pointed out, he would not last 15 seconds with the New York, Boston, or Philadelphia media.

I thought it was a fair question. But your correct, it was kind of dull. Comcast has no balls.
It was a stupid question. If any athlete went to his coach and told him to play the other guy, we call him a quitter. Kerry Collins did this in Carolina and he was crucified by the media. No athlete in his right mind would answer yes to that question.
In order for a particular media outlet to get results they need cooperation from the team, and if you ask stupid questions that are only a cheap attempt to provoke an angry response the team will shun you. A better question would have been" How do you rate your performance" or " Is there is reason why you are struggling such as you health" or how about "what do you think it is going to take for your play to improve in the coming games"
I used to think Czaban did some good work, but last Monday on the radio he took some cheap shots that were total bull like "The return to Camelot has failed". So even though Gibbs had had more success than any coach since himself, the whole Gibbs era is a bust, according to Czaban.

If I were Brunell I would have reversed it. "Czaban would you ever go to your producers and tell them that your stupid grin is annoying the heck out of the audience so why don't you let Mike Wise take my place"?

Of course MB is not going to telll his coach to pull him out of the starting job. No pro athlete would ever ask his coach to do that and if he did he'd get killed in the press and rightfully so.
Czab was asking a question to see how MB answered, he knew the answer but wanted to hear how MB answered. I'm sure everyone here has asked a question they know the answer to but wanted to hear how the person answered the question in order to gain insight into how that person thinks. I think that is what we as fans want, insight into how these players are thinking.

Now that, ladies and gentlemen, is how you handle things!

I like Czaban. Yes I know he is into shock commentary but it can be entertaining. And he is more of an entertainer than journalist. While I think his questions to Brunell were a bit over the line--so what? Brunell is a high profile player who has to be adept at handling the blitz, both by linebackers and the media.
Sorry but I'm not interested in questions that I already know the answer to. His questioning of Brunell had one intention, to piss him off. Mission accomplished I guess. That's not professional journalism in my opinion.
What some may think of as being hard hitting or shocking I think it's just immature.
