That's crazy. This thing says that Portis rushed for more yards than the whole backfield for the Skins last year. On top of that he did it with less carries. Most likely under Gibbs he'll get more carries, so just think about how many yards he can run for this year.

He averaged nearly 5.5 yds per carry. If he had gotten 371 carries (as did our backfield), he would have been on pace for >2000 yds. If he has the same kind of average, I can see him getting 2k yds. I hope 500 of those is against dallas alone. :D

i too am hoping that Portis can top last year but don't forget that denver's o-line is infamous for using a lot of not so clean techniques.

true but we also can't forget that Joe Bugel is one of the top offensive line coaches in the history of the game. And with guys like Samuels, Jansen and Thomas he has a pretty good core to work with.

Portis will break some franchise records. I don't know if it will happen this year, but eventually he will. If he can average 25 - 30 carries a game and 5.5 yards......he can rush for over 2500 yards.

I just hope everyone stays healthy especially Portis, becuase in my opinion we have the over all strongest team in the NFC
