No.1 pick?

The way that the team is playing and the schedule we have left means that the no.1 pick is not beyond the realms of possibility (who would have guessed that before the season started). At the very least we look a lock for a top 10, maybe top 5.

So, what is our greatest need? I say a stud DE or MLB.

Honestly....I hate to say it....

and I dont think were the worst team in the league (that can go to Detroit or Arizona, after that I'm not sure who else is much worse, seriously)...

but we have a shot at the number one pick (Wipes away tears)...

However, I'm down for trading any pick inside the top 5 and getting some more players, unless an absolute stud comes up.

We won't get a top 5 pick, but I would like to trade any 1st round pick we get for a second, third and fourth or something similar. One thing we have been missing the last few years is those solid upper round picks.

I think we might. If not, we'll be close.

We should be able to trade a top 5 or 10 for another late 1st rounder and a 2nd or 3rd at least. Depends who's available. We will most likely trade away our whole draft for a free agent though.

Pending Combine results, I would say the only can't miss player that we could use with a top 10 pick is Calvin Johnson, cuz he is a freak and Campbell could really use a big target as a "training wheel".

Our biggest needs are depth at O-line and D-line. We need to trade down for a mid to late 1st round and early 2nd round pick (possibly later picks as well). DE or DT with the 1st round pick and a DB or O-lineman with the later picks depending on who's out there

Calvin Johnson IS a freak, but we are about as deep as any team at WR. It's all about DE, DT and maybe MLB.

Not sure why you say that, because right now only 3 teams have records worse than us (all are at 2-8, Lions, Cards, and Raiders).

At 3-7, we're tied with the Bucs, Texans, Titans, and Browns. If the season ended today, we'd end up with anywhere between the 4th and the 8th pick.

Here are our opponents the rest of the way:

Panthers 6-4
Falcons 5-5
Eagles 5-5
at Saints 6-4
at Rams 4-6
Giants 6-3

We'll probably win one out of dumb luck somewhere along the way. But by no means are we better than any of those teams.

i see us finishing at either 5-11 or 6-10. that'll probably get us a top 10.

calvin would be hard to pass up, but gaines (DE) and okoye (DT) would be more useful, and if you can trade down a bit to get them, guys like ben grubbs (OL), mason crosby (super stud K), etc might be gained in the process. until draft time, judging whether to trade down our not really doesn't make much sense though, becausse you're not sure of who can help you and where they'll go yet. trading down instead of taking shawn merriman would've been ultra-stupid, so sometimes it is better to stand pat.
