He was mad he didnt have an excuse to put Mark brunell back in.

Ah, I love starting a fire!

And you know how I love to put those fire's out with gasoline.

All this nonesense about Saunders not getting the job done as if we were able to get the job done when Gibbs was calling the play's, the only difference with Gibbs calling the play's was he would run 3 times into a stacked line for about 3 yards late in the game and punt, then hope the defense bails him out. Well the defense isn't bailing anyone out this year which is putting a huge focus on the inability of the offense which has existed since Gibbs return.

Funny I don't here a peep about Bugel? The more I watch, the more I feel the game has long passed him by, teams blitz and succeed at will, how many times are we going to see a team bring up thier safeties to the line of scrimmage [over the center and guards no less] and not be blocked? Either this line needs to be completly overhauled, or Bugel can't handle these Blitzing defenses, remember these defenses today are hybrids of the Buddy Ryan 46, which bugel never had much succees against, seems to me our line could very well be improperly coached and illprepaired, Either way Gibbs should have identified the problem long ago and started the process of fixing it.

I know we are being knocked for not running much today, but it didn't look like to me we were going to make many first down's running, there wasen't a lot of room out there, and rightly so, any good coordinator is going to make a rookie QB [especially in his first start] beat them.

Yea Gibbs was mad, he should have been that mad 2 seasons ago, some how when we lose with Brunell it's much more palitable for him than with someone else.

Brunell is out, and no one fought thier gut's out? IRONIC!

As far as personel moves being someone else's fault? Nonesense! Gibbs has final say, perhaps he should stop listening to the great Clinton Portis when it comes to personel and football related matters. Let's hear it for Sean Taylor, and Chris Cooley, why you ask? Because in 3 year's that's the only legitamate talent we have produced in the draft. Nice job GM JOE.

No one is saying he's deciding to suck, but if you've ever had your career path threatened, it motivates you one of 3 ways.

1. A strong competitor ups his game with either better or worse results. Sometimes striving to overachieve can overshadow fundamental things.
Sometimes you in fact DO overachieve and win out.

either way its a risk....,.

2. A weak person will just roll over and die. totally pack in the bags. The rug was jerked and he's done, and its a slap in the face to them.

3. Then you have people who wont change the way they're doing things with mixed results as well...

they could sit back and wait for their proven track record and solid performance to speak for itself....but will that be mistaken for complacencey?

I think thats more of the situation than him just forgetting how to coach....

Then there's the fourth option: the players he has suck.

Don't forget draft pick Jason Campbell.

Is it possible for typed words to be slurred?

So, Williams doesn't like the fact that he's not a part of the 'coaching club' of Gibbs and Saunders? And now he's not going to coach his very best because of it?

Let's look at it this way - he squeezed more than anyone could have expected out of a no-name defense in '04, had success in '05, but the cracks were starting to show, and besides a boneheaded move to bring in Andre Carter this year, really nothing was done to improve the D-line, and guys like Griffin and Salave'a are officially worn out.

So, do you really think Gregg Williams has forgot how to coach, or decided he's going to suck at his job?

It was an isolated question I asked. I don't think I said anything about it being reflective of his performance as a coach. I think Williams has been hurt by an underachieving Andre Carter, Griff and Salave'a playing hurt, Springs missing the first several weeks, Rogers regressing at a frantically scary pace. And Prieolau being out. I'll tell you what if Pierson is playing I don't think we hear as much Ryan Clark is God talk.

Who's fault is that? Who was responsible for bringing in his players?

Lets just pretend for a minute it was the players faults... are you telling me in ONE season all of these guys forgot how to tackle????

Or did some of the Fundamental stuff get overlooked this year???

I don't know whats going on any more than you do, but I don't speculate that its the players and not GW.

I KNOW its GW. and its GIBBS as well, since the team is ulitimately his responsiblity.

I only speculate as to why there is an issue.... Ive heard Chemistry being thrown around alot... wonder if its coaching/players or players/players, or ever coaching/coaching....

Big problem is that you can go from "experienced" to "old" very fast in the NFL. One minute you're a crafty veteran, the next you're just and old bum

Seems like the implication was there, since the theme of this thread has to do with calling Gregg Williams out.

What's wrong with Griffin and Salave'a? I suppose it doesn't matter; we can see how much of a priority the front office put on upgrading the line. Springs is back now, and is getting beaten. He didn't forget how to play over those several weeks, I hope. Sean Taylor is regressing too. And Pierson Priouleau? I guess you could say his absence has hurt, since anything would be an upgrade over these dopes.

Sorry you took it that way. It's something I had been curious about for a while just thought I'd ask here and now.

What TAFKAS said. Griffin, Salave'a, Springs, Wynn, Daniels, and Holdman aren't 'experienced' anymore. They're just old.

Now, do you think Williams forgot how to coach in ONE season? Williams has no control over player personnel.

Give Williams some linebackers, a strong safety who can cover, a free safety who doesn't get called for boneheaded penalties, two corners who can cover, a couple of defensive ends who can pressure the quarterback -- and bingo! He'll be a good coach again!

I guess Monte Kiffin has lost his touch too. His unit has dropped from #1 to #24. These things happen, I'll only get worried if Williams can't field a good defense next year.
