He has yet to fully implement the schemes that worked so well in K.C.?? What is going on here? Joe Gibbs was quoted earlier in the season as saying that he was surprised that players were taking so long to learn and adapt to the offense. If this was supposed to be a superbowl run this year, and all indications suggest that is the case, how can this have happened? Was there a fundamental communication breakdown between Gibbs and Saunders and their expectations going into this year? Is there something else happening with some of our offensive players that we don't know?

Most of us here were happy when Al Saunders came aboard because at the time we envisioned the Redskins performing, and making plays the way his KC offense did. However in his first season here, things so far have not worked out that way. If you recall during the pre-season when many were taking SB Gibbs balked at that kind of talk, and considered it premature. What has gone wrong with this team this year does not rest in the hands of any one particular thing, coach or player. What has happened is a domino effect that has spread throughtout the entire team. By bringing in Saunders, Gibbs felt he could improve on an offense that despite reaching the second round of the playoffs, was woeful at times, and not as good as a lot of people thought they were. I do not believe Saunders could fully implement his entire offense with Brunell as his QB and didn't realize it until he had the opportunity to work with him.

With the changing of the guard at the QB position, let's see if the offense looks the same from the standpoint of execution. I don't want to drop the bomb on Gibbs or Saunders just yet because we need help in so many other area's. Sunday's game will be like the beginning of a new season.

I'm working on an Al Saunder's thread that I will post sometime, but I am sick and tired of people putting blame on him.

now you sound like saunders. has he ever said that was my fault? is his system so bullet proof it NEVER fails? putting players into positions to suceed is how a good coach should operate. and blaming those players when the system fails, is how to piss those players off. correct me if im wrong, but it is his job to make sure everyone is in the right position, and running the right plays? then why all the draws and short dumps that are going absolutely nowhere. isnt he calling the plays? oh, i know. its betts fault for catching a 3 yard pass and not running 60 yards with it. isnt the nfl about change? come on saunders, lets get with the program.

At the beginning of training camp Mark Brunell said anything short of a Super Bowl berth would be a disappointment for this season.
So, screw the FO for bringing in a new offensive coordinator to completely overhaul the entire offense. Thanks for wasting yet another season guys.

How many Lombardi's do you have? So what MB said, in what august? Yes, this season is a disappointment to me. However, I'll leave you with some choices here: what?

a. you embrace and realize your cowboy persuasion
b. towel boy it for Gibbs, Bubba, DS, DD(look out)....
c. tell the team AS wasted another year with AS here

take your pick

Hail

Life is long for those who want it, cheerish it, love it, and God bless live it!

Stop blaming the FO. Bringing in Saunders was a decision Gibbs made, pure and simple.
