If anything I saw from my limited views of Campbell is that he throws a PERFECT fifteen yard out. He completed that pass numerous times in preseason. It's like the the perfect ball for him.

SKINner 11-16-2006, 08:27 PM What's a 15 yard pass? :) Mort's comments make a lot of sense. I don't understand why so many people consider replacing an aging veteran with a younger and usually more talented quarterback, a give up move. Campbell can do a lot of things that Brunell can't do anymore. Brunell obviously has the experience edge, but that hasn't helped him all that much in the wins department. Excellent point. My thinking early in the season was that we should put Campbell in now, take a hit in the short term, for long term gain. However, I think that Campbell gives us a better chance to win now too. hooskins 11-16-2006, 08:35 PM Haha I love the handle. Longtimefan 11-16-2006, 09:24 PM The report from Redskin Park today was that Campbell was throwing the ball very well, even in the rain. Randle El seemed very excited when asked how he thought Jason looked during practice. Perhaps our recievers will be more excited about running their routes with a QB that can get them the ball. How would you like to be reciever on our team whose name is not Moss, or Cooley with an incentive laden contract, and one of the incentives is based on your number of catches? SmootSmack 11-16-2006, 09:39 PM Well Moss is our best receiver. And without Portis he's probably our best player on offense. If he's healthy I expect Moss to be the primary target. I would hope he is. RobH4413 11-16-2006, 10:05 PM Well Moss is our best receiver. And without Portis he's probably our best player on offense. If he's healthy I expect Moss to be the primary target. I would hope he is. If our passing game takes off, we could definitly see a resurgence in the running game. Imagine if CP we're given an offense where he wasn't the main threat... Also Betts looks great when theres open field... makes excellent 1v1 moves. dblanch66 11-17-2006, 12:51 AM My feeling is that Cooley will become much more involved now. Young QB's need to have that good receiving TE and rely on them when under pressure. Also, Campbell does have mobility, has shown the ability to pull it down and run out of bounds when the receiver is covered rather than force it and will throw it away in the redzone when coverage is tight. He will also take a sack. Keeping the O on the field will help the defense too. This is the right time for this move. vaoutlaws2006 11-17-2006, 08:00 AM i hate to say it but this move should have been made after the bye week. I like what campbell brings to the table he has all the tools minus the experience. Lets hope he (campbell) was worth all we gave up. Never been much of a brunell fan would have rather seen Ramsey in saunders' offense. He had the arm to make all the throws. I dont want to rehash the ramsey thing but i think he would have thrived in a down the field passing offense. RedskinRat 11-17-2006, 11:05 AM It's worth a look at the Washington Redskins (http://www.redskins.com) video of Thursday practice cam. He looked nice and relaxed (no live fire). He needs a nice series on his first possession to get in the groove then he'll take the Bucs secondary apart. We have the WR's to support him doing that and L Betts and TJ Duckett for run support. |
