To me, it seems like SOMEWHAT of a waste to play duckett and betts in this system, and not bring them back. From Duckett's perspective, its a waste to spend a 3rd round pick on a guy that not going to be around next year. As far as Betts, he's shown he could be a very good backup, so why not try to keep him. Will we keep one if both play well OR will Free Agency claim both??

i would love to have betts back.
TJ is suppose to be a big part of the offense this week, says gibbs

Struggling with cap room its hard to say who stays and who goes. I think the rest of the season is the tryout. Duckett was a mistake of an insurance policy that is now (since Portis is on IR) hopefully about to pay off. Hes a gibbs type of guy I think, much like Betts is. No dancing just hitting the hole hard. So as to which one stays and which one goes I have no idea, but my money is on Betts because hes been around the Offense longer. This opinion is likely to change sepending on the play pf TJ Duckett.

They should both be given equal duty for the remainder of the season and let their performance determine who stays, and who goes. However the final countdown will be financial, which one we're willing to pay.

Whoever has the most yards on the season from this point on. There is no sense increasing Betts value, as his contract expires this season. Duckett's does as well.
I'm assuming whomever has the better year, we throw some money towards. The lesser RB will get a mediocre offer, and he'll either take it or leave it.

TJ is a better back, but betts will probably be cheaper to resign... either one would be great to have as a backup/spot starter (rock wouldn't be bad, but he's got to stop fumbling at the worst possible moments first).

TJ is better in the he can get the tough yards, he's a better compliment to portis. This is not a knock on Betts as he is good too, and will get an opp to show is skills in this league, but TJ is the better fit. I hope gibbs agrees.

I say resign Betts and Franchise Duckett, so we can get some value back for him. What do you guys think?

Duckett is way too crappy to franchise. We would have to pay him top 5 money because nobody is going to give a first round pick for him.

Franchise? Neither one of these guys will get the franchise or transitional tag.
If you franchise a player he must receive a salary that is at least equal to the top 5 salaries for his position, while a transitional tag requires a salary that at least equals the avg. of the top 10 for his position.
Does anyone think Duckett or Betts is a top 5 or top 10 for his position?
