its not just the finger (like TO) its the HAND - three screws, no sooner than 4 weeks, maybe up to 8. besides that, he's probably going to have shoulder surgery this week as well, o he can start healing that too (which may be longer than 4 weeks in recovery and part of the reason).

I agree with it if he is really being put on IR now. whether he is or not, he probably wouldn't have played for the rest of this year anyways.

I'm sick about this. But the playoffs are nothing short of a miracle. I agree with this move. Get our franchise back healthy for next year. I knew that tackle in the Bengals game would haunt us, but not like this.

He's had such an injury plagued year, shut him down and let's get him 100% for next season.

This year is a lost cause.

Winning our last 7 games would be a miracle, and besides even if that did happen you would have to believe that Betts and Duckett are doing a good enough job.

Suddenly trading for Duckett doesn't seem so dreadful does it?

Bottom line, I'd love for him to be out there playing, as would my fantasy football team (glad I stashed Campbell or Betts on my roster all year by the way), but I'd rather he have the surgery and have more time to recover than have a Shawn Springs-type situation all over again next season with Portis

Without a doubt. We've seen time and time again that Betts is no Portis, but he also isn't a horrible back either. Add in to the fact that we have a great change of pace back with Duckett, and we're doing alright for the rest of the season.

When Duckett gets more than 2 carries in a game, then I would agree it was a good trade.

for the most part. but from what i can gather it seems this is, at least in part, throwing in the towel on the season. i doubt they'd put him on IR were we in the hunt.

it is nice to have TJ though at this point. maybe he can prove something.
