Matty, this is the kind of thing that would go nice in a Salary Cap / Personnel forum. Wink wink, nudge nudge.
Here are the 'Skins pending free agents:
Derrick Dockery
Ethan Albright
Ladell Betts
TJ Duckett
Ade Jimoh
Derrick Frost
Kenny Wright
Warrick Holdman
Jeff Posey
Tyson Walter
Mike Pucillo
Vernon Fox
Todd Wade
Todd Yoder
Jim Molinaro
Ryan Boschetti
Some interesting decisions on this list:
Derrick Frost has punted alright, 42.3 yards per punt, 36.3 net of the return which is about middle of the NFL pack. Ethan Albright is a rock solid long snapper. Will GW let Holdman go and let Rocky play? Is Kenny Wright a goner? Will Ade be kept for teams? But most importantly, will the Redskins actively pursue Dockery to remain the starter at LG? He hasn't played well lately. And will Betts be back?

id like to keep bolded. it comes down to either betts or duckett, and i think duckett fits better with us. he would be a better change of pace for portis. betts is also 2 years older

The only absolute keeper on that list to me is Big Red. And Ade of course. Ade is a given.

I agree there. I want us to draft some better OL talent in the lower rounds of the draft this year.

Mathematically we're still alive. That's all I can say.
Until the defense figures itself out and we replace Brunell, it's going to be a long season.

It's about time reality set in around here.
The Redskins should be using their remaining seven games to gather important information about the players they have on hand, and to ascertain their needs in the offseason.

Seasons done, not just because of where we are (3-6) but also becuase of how we got here.
It hasn't been pretty, and theres no reason to believe they'll be a comeback. Everything sucks across the board...
Now, where it goes toward draft philosophy may get interesting...
I know alot of people dislike the current position we've taken towards the draft. I think with a monster coaching staff, It probably plays more towards our strengths if you build through the draft... The draft picks are probably better suited to be "coached" up. More open minded, if you will.
Why not bend the wallet in the coaching department still, but look at the draft as a way to build the team. Mabye I'm just stating the obvious... but to me it seems like the status quo isn't working, and we need some new direction.

What have they demonstrated that would give you hope? The offense has produced 3 points in every division road game.

Ade is not a keeper. He has played like hell all season.
