Sheriff Gonna Getcha 11-12-2006, 08:00 PM how do you know which week to bench them then? like i said, you can evaluate a player's performance each week, sub-par or er, great, but you evaluate the player himself by how he plays over a span of games.
Did I start last week's thread to suggest that our answer lies in Brunell? No. You're reading things into the thread that simply weren't there (i.e. Brunell shouldn't be benched).
As for your suggestion that the poll's options were either "sub-par" or "great," you are wrong. The poll started with three options - "great," "average," and "sub-par." It then expanded to include "good." In any event, I'm not sure what point you are trying to make.
illdefined 11-12-2006, 08:05 PM Of course you also have to evaluate the big picture, but the point of the Brunell thread last week was to simply say he did a good job last week.
yeah i know. i gave him props too, because for the first time in a long, overdue time, he played like he needed to play to win with a bad defense - even if he didn't break any 'records' like he did vs. Houston (record for most dinks completed, yay). alas an NFL season is all big picture, and you can't judge much by one game. or even a half (just ask Ramsey).
Ramsey wasn't judged in one half. He had the entire preseason to secure the job, and Gibbs had 3 years of tape to watch on him to know that he wasn't comfortable with him. I don't want to keep beating this dead horse, I'm just tired of the Ramsey apologists crying about their boy who is riding pine right now in NY.
TheFunBunch79 11-12-2006, 08:11 PM I asked you in another thread to cool it, keep it up and you're done.
if brunell keeps it up he will be done, and if you keep it up you will be done as well. go ahead and do what you need to do to feel powerful asshole

nah i know you added the 'good' option later, i just thought it was funny how this thread started on how binary people are about Brunell and "great" and "average" were the original two options on your poll. not making any conclusions about your thoughts on Mark, just thought it was a funny relevant quirk.

No need to be a douchebag about it, but since you asked...
I might add this is a very fitting thread for you.

i wasn't trying to turn this thread into one about Ramsey, hope you aren't either. dead and buried as far as i'm concerned, just remarking how Brunell has had 9 regular season games to prove his validity in this system and i think that was way too much.

Dead and buried? Yet you dug it up. Like I said, he had plenty of chances, it didn't come down to one half of football. I know you're not that naive.

i dug it up regarding Gibbs decisiveness, not Ramsey as a player. Gibbs made a decision on Ramsey after finishing a season strong, 3 preseason games and a regular season half. i'm comparing that to half of a regular season of Brunell playing like Brunell ie. not good enough.
Longtimefan 11-12-2006, 08:30 PM First RedskinRat tells it like it is. But as a whole Im not going to be a part of a forum that continues to support Gibbs and his dumbass decisions and his QB. If they play good one week props to Brunell threads emerge and Gibbs is the man. The next week after they suck here come the bashers. Too many damn hypocrites around here. Ive been a skin fan for 35 yrs and always will be but they suck out loud and Ill be damn if im gonna defend lousy ass football. Later.
Hang in there Fan4Life and have a little faith. You've been a fan for 35 yrs. and I've been around a little longer than you, so surely you must have seen this coming if you watched the game last week. I knew we were going to have a tough time with Philly today, and saw pretty much what I expected because that's the way this team has played all year. I didn't expect to see any Props For Brunell threads this week because I knew after this game today fans were going to be calling for his head again, I said as much last week. Don't give up.
