It seems like the Redskins set their targets on a player and go at all costs to get him in the shortest amount of time. My question is were the Redskins considering Darren Howard as a possibility instead of Andre Carter? It would seem to me that Howard is much more effective against the run than Carter and we could have gotten him instead. It just seems like the Skins don't like to wait and try and look at all the alternatives out there before handing over massive signing bonuses.

I don't remember hearing any rumors about Howard. Would we be able to afford him?

We paid Carter the same amount the Eagles paid Howard.
He would have been a much better choice. But hindsight is 20/20.

I do believe there was a hint of some interest in Howard at one time, but there never was a follow up to indicate how serious they were.

The Skins got him because he reminded them of a younger jevon kearse with an upside.
