MTK 11-09-2006, 10:14 AM The worst is when their fucking little heaters trip the circuit and you loss your work on the computer. LOL we've had people leave those little heaters on all weekend, talk about a fire hazard. cpayne5 11-09-2006, 10:53 AM They don't allow the little space heaters in my building, we don't have a public thermostat, and they don't switch over from A/C to heat until the first week of November. I'm surprised the women in the building haven't started bringing in blankets yet. Monkeydad 11-09-2006, 11:45 AM Keep the heat off in server rooms. They'll overheat. I worked at a previous job where the stupid ladies would turn on the heat in the small room where we kept supplies AND the server. Even when we had IBM come out to do a parts replacement on one of them, they warned us to keep it cooler in the room and I still couldn't get them to listen. It's not like they even had to work in that room (although I did), you walk in occasionally for under a minute and grab something and get out. If it's 60 degrees in there, you won't die! I hope they've fried it by now without me there to fix the thermostat daily. Monkeydad 11-09-2006, 11:46 AM LOL we've had people leave those little heaters on all weekend, talk about a fire hazard. With carpet? :D ArtMonkDrillz 11-09-2006, 11:56 AM At my old job I sat with my back facing this chick who would always crank up her little space heater, regardless of how hot it was outside. I really hate being hot, so I would crank up my fan and point it toward the heat. Everyday was like a battle of good vs evil, until I finally got a new job and evil prevailed. My coworkers seemed sad that I was leaving, but I really think it's because I took the little fan with me and they had to sweat it out. BDBohnzie 11-09-2006, 02:04 PM Yep, in a big office building, no control over the thermostat. It's usually more on the cold side than warm. And, at my old job, any time I wanted to cool off, I'd go sit in the server room for 10 minutes. It was so nicely ice old in there. RedskinRat 11-09-2006, 02:14 PM Server room = Best place to keep beer/spirits. Not that I condone workplace drinking. |
