Is anyone else shocked that he went "by the book" so early in the game??
Wow, had they just kicked the PAT the game could have been a totally different game.
Big thanks to the Tuna for being an idiot.

He probably was reminded of all those close games he has played against Gibbs over the years, and thought the two points was going to be to his advantage in the end. It turned out he was terribly wrong, and I'm glad he decided to go by the book..

He said afterward that he always goes by the chart. That seems like a Nixonian statement (Let me make this perfectly clear). I bet an earnest reporter could find a dozen instances when he's gone against the chart.
I don't buy the "if they had kicked they would have been sitting on the ball at the end" argument. If they had gone for one the Redskins might have gone for two after one of their scores and there are a million potential possibilities. One involves Parcells spending the entire 3rd quarter in the bathroom with the shits. For a more detailed explanation see "Back to the Future".

Funny you should say that. What with today being November 5th and all

Not to brag. Ok, its bragging:) , but here's my quote right after Dallas scored that TD:
Thanks Dallas for going for 2 this early. Hopefully that helps us later.
Thanks again Bill!

All I have to say is that kind of call is what makes the differnce between Parcells and Gibbs.....

wow... good call!
I know Parcells is a 'go for it' type of guy but I would NEVER go for 2pts before the 4th quarter.

I actually like the call. I'd rather go for a PAT early when I at least know the outcome before it's too late and deep in the 4th quarter. Honestly, that PAT didn't make any difference. The Cowboys simply made too many mistakes and didn't make enough plays to win the game.
