Give Props to Brunellmooby 11-05-2006, 07:13 PM It was a decent game played by Brunell today. He played to win too, he didn't play to lose. SmootSmack 11-05-2006, 07:14 PM What is all this about 'benching Archuleta'? He was beaten by Jason Witten for the big catch on the last play before the blocked field goal. He wasn't benched. He was out there getting torched when the game was on the line. I think he was brought out there at the end to serve as extra help on obvious passing plays. "Help" being used loosely GTripp0012 11-05-2006, 07:15 PM Well, I posted an article with the numbers a few weeks ago. Regardless of what the average numbers were, Brunell is the worst quarterback in the past ten seasons in fourth quarter comebacks. He played an acceptable game today, but I'm still happy it wasn't on him to win the game.Yeah, I remember FO doing a study on it, finding Brunell the worst statistical comeback QB in the NFL. Then again the best was...wait for it...Jake Plummer. But if you have to comeback consistently, chances are the team isn't doing a good job at any other position. Shit, I'm sorry I take it back Stacks42 11-05-2006, 07:22 PM Good thing "almost interceptions" arent a real stat and have no effect on a game. And if you want to talk about luck, how about the Redskins' season until now? We talk about the skins namely Rogers having "almost interceptions", looked like the whole cowpukes secondary, adopted his hands of stone play. Im glad there werent any picks, MB had quite a few scary passes (the cooley touchdown, and what was up with that horrible throw to a wide open llyod? it was called back but wtf can he ever hit anyone in stride?). I cant believe that people are saying that a QB throwing for less than 200yds is a great game Daseal 11-05-2006, 07:25 PM Brunell started the game off hot, and quickly cooled down. He made some big throws, he missed some big throws, and he made some awful throws. If this were a one week trial, he'd probably be our #1 WR. But does anyone want to bet he'll play well again next week? Or the week after? Brunell feels the pressure "Oh shit, Im gonna lose my job, time to take some risks." then once he has the job secure he becomes firmly entrenched back to his old ways. While Brunell played decent, he didn't play great. He about got Portis killed with a high ball, threw two bad ints, one into a lineman, and overall moved the team by going deep and getting PI calls (proving our WRs get more than open, Dallas has a strong secondary and we were blowing by!). I still want a change at QB just because I don't see this being a regular occurance. I cant believe that people are saying that a QB throwing for less than 200yds is a great gameIt is when you throw 23 times! That's 8.35 yards/attempt. Better than Peyton Manning's season average. He did have a few scary passes, but people were asking us to open up the offense...so I mean you can't have it both ways...unless they drop them. Daseal 11-05-2006, 07:41 PM Lets base Mark Brunells season Average againt Peyton Mannings, or even this game vs Peyton Mannings best game. GTripp0012 11-05-2006, 07:51 PM Lets base Mark Brunells season Average againt Peyton Mannings, or even this game vs Peyton Mannings best game. Why would we make the comparison? I'm just saying Brunell's YPA today was better than the average Manning game. Ya know, instead of giving a figure with nothing to compare it to. Will you always come up with something to complain about? Hello... Rivalry... We beat the Cowpukes for God's sake, give it a rest for ONE DAMN WEEK!!! Jimminy XMAS!!! |
