BrunellMVP?

I think both Brandon and ARE are more than capable of stepping up, ie getting wide open and running wild...i think the real questions focus on 4 things: 1) is the playcalling going to allow for deep balls? 2) will the line allow those calls to develop? 3) will mark be patient enough (trust his line) to let the plays develop? 4) will we establish an effective run game to set up play action?

i just dont think he scans the field. he feels a little pressure the he wants to throw it to moss regardless of how many people are on him. My prediction is this sunday cooley is the guy he will want to force it too. If Brunnell doesnt have success this weekend will we see a change? I wont bet on it but all i can hope for is during the bye week Brunnell has found a fountain of youth somewhere and spent the entire time in it.

I would agree, it doesn't appear as if he is making his reads...He seems to look for moss, if moss is covered, he looks to check down or tosses it out of bounds...while this strategy avoids the turnover, it diminishes the value of our talented off season acquisitions- while making the opposing D's job exponentially easier.
I also agree that the connection between brunell and cooley will be key on sunday.
Everyone is going to have to step up without Moss.
Not having Moss in the lineup is going to be a big loss. Why can't we just get healthy as a team??

We have all the depth we need. Patten, Lloyd, Randal El, Cooley. We're good.

This could either be a huge step forward or an even bigger leap backward than they have already taken. Without Moss, Brunell might actually learn how to throw to someone without Moss, Cooley, or *insert RB here* on the back of their jerseys. However, I don't think it's going to happen. It'll be about the same thing that happens when Moss is in there. He'll look to Cooley and the backs most of the game. Whatever, I'll be on the road during the game.

As it's been pointed out, it's not whether ARE and Lloyd can step up (they can), it's whether Brunell can throw to someone who's not 89, 47 or 26/46. He's going to have to this weekend, and I think he'll be ok.

You guys KILL me with this Brunell stuff. The man CAN throw the ball to other people. He'll be fine, and he'll have a freakin rocket on him after sitting out for so long and resting.
