i agree...we've been cheering for the last decade with nothing to cheer about (save last years great run). That said, i do wish we'd arrive a bit earlier to the games...we are def. a late arriving crowd, which makes the team's dramatic entrance somewhat weaker, as the stadium is still 30% empty 15 mins before game time. but can't fault people for wanting to booze...

I think this is mostly because of 495. Getting all 96,000+ into the stadium is near impossible. Fans need to leave earlier to arrive earlier. Theres nothing worse than paying all the money to go to a game and missing kickoff. I leave early enough to be in my seats with at least 10 minutes to go and Im always ready to cheer. If the Defense takes the field first I continually cheer them on no matter how many third and longs they give up. I'll cheer no matter how bad it is.

I also think that given the choice the other team has the advantage at the beginning of either half. As stated, fans aren't in their seats in the first quarter and aren't loud, and at the beginning of the second half many fans are in lines for the bathroom, for food, or buying stuff. Thats just the way it goes. Those of us that are ready need to cheer louder to make up for the difference.

fair enough...still wish people would arrive earlier, but what can you do? How are the fans in your section? Last game I went to, people were SCREAMING at a guy for standing up and cheering on our D...so much so that there was almost redskin or redskin violence. Do you find that fans in your section (the majority) are less animated as well? I mean from my standpoint, you are at a game...its your job to cheer, and if you feel moved to do it standing, so be it...i for one, never sit down (but that is because i am right infront of the luxury boxes (so there is nobody behind me), but still, its a GAME!

Fans have a duty to support their team by making noise when the opponent's offense is on the field and staying quiet (i.e. not booing) when our offense is on the field. Fans DO affect the game and if they do not do their part to create a home-field advantage, they shouldn't complain about players not doing their part.

I've never understood the point of booing your team. What does it accomplish? If your team sucks, do you think the players need the fans to inform them of such? When a team is playing poorly they know it and don't need fans to pile on and hit them when they are down.

In anticipation of how people might respond to this post: (1) football is not politics, so please do not cite your 1st Amendment rights to boo; and (2) just because you paid for a ticket and have the right to boo doesn't mean that you should boo.

when you overpay for so much talent (and ticket prices are raised accordingly) you have a right to expect your team not to suck. I can understand the desire to boo, as fan are simply soooo frustrated that they have no other outlet (ie- 4 3 and outs in a row, and brunell completes a 5 yard pass when we needed 8)...just as the natural reaction to a good play is to cheer. You want a release. Moreover, these guys are not kids, they are professionals. It is reasonable for people to expect them to play and behave accordingly. That said, I agree with you, it is destructive, demeaning and unnecessary. Moreover, i don't buy the booing as a motivational tool, but i can see some benefit in trying to illicit change- ie get brunell out.

Fans in my section (129) seem to be more sitting than cheering. It drives me nuts but what can i do. Also in this section are many fans of the opposition. The wife and I are on the aisle, so every week I have to sit next to the opposition. This week won't be any different. Expect the stadium to be at least 40% cowboy fans if not more. I've definitely heard stories of people being told to sit down and think its ridiculous.

Yea the booing drives me nuts. Its not all Brunells fault. He just takes the blame all the time because hes the easiest one to point at. Boo the D when they keep giving up 3rd and longs.

That is another huge beef- the redskins fans seem to sell their tickets to opponents ALL the time! Are they corp seats? i am constantly sickened by the volume of opposing jerseys in the stadium, week in, week out.

I cannot STAND how negative he is. Drives me crazy. He's bitter.
