Rogers has been a major disappointment. We drafted him 9th overall didn't we? He should be handling #1 WRs right now, if not completely shutting them down.

This comment goes back to my original statement about Champ Bailey. Redskins fans were spoiled for several seasons while Champ was shutting down receivers week in and week out. Now we expect every corner out of the draft to perform at that level, but the fact is, very few corners before Champ, and none drafted since are as good as he is. Jammer, Newman, Pacman, etc. were all supposed to be the next shutdown corner, but they all get torched from time to time. Even Champ gets beat badly every now and then.

Rogers should be judged against his peers and not his predecessors, and against his peers, he's about equal.

re: for point
My point was EVEN with Bledsoe (now benched) and the TO injury, WE still got manhandled. only close due to Rock's runback. what has changed, beside's the cowboy's new QB who wasn't flustered by Carolina's much better D?
We played terrible but take away our INT thrown to Roy Williams on the 1 yard line which resulted in a 99 yard TD drive for Dallas and we have a 3 point ballgame with us playing like crap and the 'Boys manhandling us. Just think if we played average instead of terrible. The same goes for the Vikings game and the Giants game.

The bucs are ok. we have a shot...they did just beat philly. (who by the way you just claimed lost to 3 "Good teams".
I didn't say they lost to "good teams". I said they lost 3 games. If we're arguing then we need to make sure we don't put words in the other's mouth/post.

Weren't the Redskins 2-2? that aside, we frequently have troubles with mcnabb and westbrook. like the giants and dallas, its likely they find their form against the skins...
Just as likely we'll find our form against them.

If you are holding on to the spoiler role, i think you are grasping for air...i mean they thoroughly owned us.
okay

Miami was considered a superbowl darkhorse, does that mean they should beat chicago this week? There is something to be said for reality, and the reality is, Saints have played well, and the skins haven't.
Should beat them? no. could beat them? After watching the Arizona/Chicago game then sure Chicago could lose to Miami. The Saints have played well but the stars don't stay aligned forever.

Again, reality is key. Rams DO score, while the Skins can score, only in theory. how many points are we averaging?
St Louis is averaging 23 pts/game. We're averaging 20 pts/game.

i do...i love springs, despite his being injury prone, but Rogers is not up to speed yet. He's been consistently burned by WRs no matter who he's been matched up against. while he's seen higher caliber WRs this year, having filled in for Springs, he's been burned badly...i don't think many would consider Williamson from the Vikings or anyone on the titans to be considered legit No. 1 guys. If plexico is covered, toomer will score. if TO is covered Glenn will score. if Stallwort is covered, brown will score. if steve smith then k johnson.
Don't you have anything better to do then come up with crap like this thread?
For God's sake man, IT"S DALLAS WEEK!!!!
Don't be such a DOWNER!~

I'm not going to blame Carlos for the cushion he gives. Once Springs comes back and all is right in the defensive universe, then we'll see how he fares. The cushion he gives has to be due to GW telling him to give it because he doesn't trust Archuleta to make the tackle.I wish our defensive problems were as simple as Springs being out, but we will continued to get beat by the pass if our LBs don't start making plays in the intermediate passing game. Against Indy, Shawn did knock away a pass, and seriously I can't remember any other time when we made a play on the ball. We don't get pressure on the QB nearly as consitently as we need to on third down. In fact, we are just flat out horrid on third down. We always seem to have the worst possible defense called, and execute it as poorly as possible.

I'd agree that our LBs aren't looking great in coverage. While I WILL defend Holdman's run stopping performance, I would think Rocky would fare much better in coverage.

Is it just me or is Dallas's line nowhere NEAR as much of a concern for them as we all thought it would be?

I think a lot of that comes from GW too. He doesn't count on his front four a whole lot to apply pressure, hence the reason he calls all these exotic blitz packages.

Also Blache, who has in the past said that the "sack" is an overrated stat. It's about disruption, in his opinion

On Dallas:

if you take away the INT, and give us a TD (eliminating their 99 yard drive, then you should probably take away Rock's long run...same senario. I guess my point is, I'm worried that the way they did play against vikes, dallas and giants WAS average. I don't think you can discount the domination that occurred against the 'boys and g-men.

On the bucs:
I didn't say they lost to "good teams". I said they lost 3 games. If we're arguing then we need to make sure we don't put words in the other's mouth/post.

semantics, but you stated that they beat three crappy teams and then lost to three "real teams". The implication is that, phili won because of an advantageous early schedule and as they played better teams....so while you are correct you never used the word "good" you did use the word "real".

On finding our form:
Weren't the Redskins 2-2? that aside, we frequently have troubles with mcnabb and westbrook. like the giants and dallas, its likely they find their form against the skins...
Just as likely we'll find our form against them.

fair enough. lets hope...

closer than i thought (as are the stats), i would say, that 3 pts is not insignificant in the NFL...add three and change, and we beat minn and tenn.

St. Louis would destroy us right now, imagine tryin to stop bulger with our D-line and Secondary, he's only thrown 1 pic!!! We would at least be able to run the ball against them, but that has proven not enough since we fall behind so often.
