I liked watters a lot, he was very good. But those situational stats are not HOF noteable. I like the 7 straight 1500 yard seasons, but that alone is not enough.
HOF 2007 Preliminary Nominee ListThe Zimmermans 10-30-2006, 02:41 PM I liked watters a lot, he was very good. But those situational stats are not HOF noteable. SmootSmack 10-30-2006, 02:56 PM Peter King is always saying that Monk doesn't belong because defenses were really zeroing in on Gary Clark anyway. That GC was the real threat. So if that's the case, he better make a big case for Clark to get into Canton Manusky91 10-30-2006, 03:08 PM 2007 SHOULD BE: *Art Monk *Bruce Matthews *Clay Matthews *Russ Grimm *Ricky Watters *Herschel Walker *Ed “Too Tall” Jones - I know...Cowboy, but he deserved to be in finally. Plunkett and Stabler should be in soon...not this year though, there are MORE deserving guys to get in first. Art Monk! I didn't know you could get into the HOF by being the trade bait that built the Cowboys Monkeydad 10-30-2006, 03:14 PM ;) Seriously though - you would put Jamal Lewis in the Hall for one incredble year and two pretty good years? Jamal Lewis statistics - pro-football-reference.com (http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/LewiJa00.htm) Sanders had a LOT of great years, and no bad years (IIRC). I wouldn't compare him to Lewis and Davis. IF he had maintained that level that he lost from injuries, yes. Davis was able to put together 4 VERY impressive years and a few Super Bowls to Lewis' couple of seasons. He belongs in SOMEDAY...not right after his 5 year waiting period when guys like Monk are still waiting to get in...but he does belong there someday. Monkeydad 10-30-2006, 03:17 PM I didn't know you could get into the HOF by being the trade bait that built the Cowboys That trade with Minnesota was ridiculous...5-for-1 deal, but Walker was a great player for Dallas even though I hate his team with a passion. Herschel Walker statistics - pro-football-reference.com (http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/WalkHe00.htm) Look what he's up to now. :D Herschel's Famous 34 food products (http://www.herschelsfamous34.com/products.htm) onlydarksets 10-30-2006, 04:57 PM Jamal lewis is a funny case, he got hurt and has never been the same. When he was good, he was HOF good, but that's not enough. TD played many years at a high level. How do you figure? He had 2 great seasons and 2 very good seasons. JL had 2 very good seasons and 1 great season. Neither is (or should be) enough. SmootSmack 10-30-2006, 05:04 PM You put Herschel Walker in the Hall of Fame, then you better put Earnest Byner onlydarksets 10-30-2006, 05:26 PM You put Herschel Walker in the Hall of Fame, then you better put Earnest Byner Now we're talking! This RB talk is getting a little out of hand. For the record, TD, HW, and, at this point, JL are not HOF material. I can't defend Sayers being in there with similarly few good years - I don't know much about his career. dmek25 10-30-2006, 07:30 PM 6 seasons. kind of like reggie bush. not alot of monsterous stats. but good runner, receiver, and kick returner. if he played in todays game, i doubt he would get in |
