I dont understand why a pay through company cant be used. If Visa won't pay allofmp3 why don't they hook up with a payment company and pass money through that way. Don't get me started on this whole thing. Allofmp3 is legal and the music industry doesn't like it so everyone suffers. Big surprise.
Per Wikipedia, you can use an intermediary called Ukash (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AllOfMP3.com)? I'll pass.

Call me old fashioned, but I own (as in, I have the CD) for 90% of the music I have. I have everything ripped to WMA lossless (120GB worth), but some is still in MP3 format. For almost all of the other 10%, I owned the CD but lost it (I still consider that as "owning" a license to it). I do have a small number of songs I got from THAT place (not "THAT" place, but the "THAT" place that started it all, but no longer exists), and a few albums that people have given me copies of.
I know the record companies are bilking most artists, but the artists still get a cut for each album sold.
A few months ago I sold off my CDs one by one on Amazon and made some nice loot. I figured what the hell, all of my music is on my hard drive and my iPod and I can't remember the last time I actually used a CD.

It's the whole licensing thing. That's what I meant by "old fashioned".
