When Will we ever learn to stop listening to the hype before a Redskins season?

We will never stop listening??? For some reason we always believe we will win the superbowl?? We have all the money we get the players, but there has never been chemistry after a off season shoping trip???

Well, to be fair, the members of thewarpath.net are guilty for creating the hype around here. Careful of the term "chemistry". It's not the reason for our defensive struggles. A lack of team chemistry may be the product of a lack of winning, and lack of defensive production. But the reasoning for the reasons are still unknown to many of us. Matty said it best when talking about the defense (I'm paraphrasing) when he said that "its interesting to look back and see how far the defense has fallen." There were signs last year, but we were the number one defense by efficiency in 2004. Two years later...28.

One thing is for sure: any time you have bad defense, you have poor tackling.

Very true! It just amazes me how far they have fallen!

Damn all the hype was on here. Start of FA until the Tenn game people on here were going ape s--t on here about the skins. When some of us tried to say the skins were overrated and the other team are going to be alot better were called turncoats or cowbys fans. You will never win in this league by buying FA trading draft picks away, never keeping your proven talent because you dont wont to pay them. Instead the skins just want to overpay on someone else player. Pray to god that someone at redskins park gets a clue one year and decides to run this team like a professional team and not fantasy football. Think someone would have learn his lesson from 2000 {LITTLE DANNY} Hail to the skins.

CHIEF you're right. People who want to get paid and not produce would love to come to DC! AA needs to be arrested and taken in to custody, cause he's been stealin' a check since the start of the season! HAIL from MCUSA!

I'm such an off-season addict....

It's like crack....

I need to watch highlight videos of all the new superstars, talk about how unfairly good we'll be the next season, and get all crazy. I loose sleep, toss and turn, (Al saunders, cooley, randel el, touchdown, world champions, fireworks, parties) and just anticipate the season.

Then the pre-season comes and I'm still in denial. "We'll be fine, TRUST ME, Gibbs knows what he's doing, he's got it all undercontrol"....

First couple of games mean nothing... We always start slow right? Then the bye week roles around and I'm searching for answers. My friends are reminding me of my claims during the summer. I'm lost in the darkness, hoping that some day my beloved Redskins will show everyone what I've been saying every year. "This is our year baby!, Just see"....

"You say that every year Rob, When will you grow up and realize that the Redskins suck".... No-one understands any more. I'm lonely. The cowboys beat us. As I search for answers I find solace in the Cowboys losing on monday night. As long as the Cowboys are losing, mabye the Redskins can come back and punch them in the mouth.

In two weeks I get to call up the cowboys fans I know, and tell them to be afraid of a team that is about to come out of the gates on all cylanders. This team is pissed off, and nothing will ease every Redskins fans woes like a good ole' dallas cowgirl ass kicking. Hail! bitches, and get ready for some Redskins football.

I guess it depends on what hype you listen to. The media wasn't too high on the Skins especially during August.

Of course there was some hype here on the boards. Shame on us fans for being optimistic and excited about a new season.

Were our expectations too high? Maybe. But this team is definitely underachieving and capable of playing much, much better.

So in reality I don't think we overhyped them as much as they have underperformed.

try saying that 10 times really fast. but i totally agree. there isn't one reason why this team should not, at the very least, be as good as the one from last season. the one thing alot of us are forgetting as last year we stayed pretty much injury free, this years version has alot of key players missing time, or nursing injuries

the talent is there. this team could really bash some heads in. however, injuries on defense, and such a high learning curve on the 700 page Al Saunders Guide to Winning, has put the Skins in must win to survive mode.

I believe the hype somewhat, but always had that damn angel conscience on my shoulder saying believe in them, but don't believe the hype. at that time, i thought he was on haterade...but he ended up being right. little bastard.
