SouperMeister 10-22-2006, 10:26 PM Please, please take Holdman out. I swear I saw miss at least 3 or 4 tackles today. He's horrible. McIntosh couldn't do any worse.
And while you're at it, take Andre Carter out on running downs, replacing him with Daniels at right DE and Wynn at left DE. Carter and Holdman are a horrible combination stopping the run on the right side of our D. Having paid huge money for Carter and Archuletta with paltry production is killing the defense.
joekes 10-22-2006, 10:33 PM Fire Al Saunders!!
He thinks he's too much of a F*cking genius- To much of a genius to run the plays during preseason, too much of a genius to run his backs more than 22 times against the WORST running defense in the league. RUN THE BALL GENIUS. Maybe he can go coach MENSA's football team.
His offense sucks for this team.
His offense is for teams that like to look pretty and lose in the first round of th playoffs - teams with vaginas. Maybe he can go coach MENSA's powder puff football team.
Fire Al Saunders NOW!!
(if you don't want to fire him, fine, just unplug his mic).
70Chip 10-22-2006, 10:38 PM I think there is a case to be made for seeing what Campbell is capable of doing. I don't think it's likely to happen, but I think the talk is understandable. I'm a little curious myself.
I don't believe that Campbell will make things better. I think it's far more likely that in the short term he would make things worse. (I know it doesn't seem possible but believe me it is.) I guess when you are 2 -5 it shouldn't make that much of a difference.
Other areas that are causing us problems and seemed to be overlooked when everyone obsesses about Brunell:
1. Clinton Portis is and has not been healthy.
2. Our Offensive Line is playing like shit. They don't seem to have bought in to the Saunders thing at all.
3. Our defense is now below average. Anyone whe remembers the names Ron Lynn or Mike Nolan will know how hard it is to win games when you have a defense ranked in the 20s. I don't see how they get better this year, either.
4. Special teams is hit and miss. I'm surprised that there haven't been calls to can Danny Smith but I may have missed them.
One more thing. After hearing Steve Csaban disrespect Gibbs tonight, I'm going to make jamming him my life's calling. If Comcast chooses to keep him on the air, I will add them to the list. What a f__ing asshole.
Beemnseven 10-22-2006, 10:41 PM Fire Al Saunders!!

The first 7 runs netted 1 yard rushing. It's not like they didn't try. Once the third quarter started, the Colts were up 27-14 before anyone could blink, and Portis was getting banged up.
Firing Al Saunders would help the team out as much as moving its headquarters from Ashburn to Tyson's Corner.

The way I figure, we'll either lose with Brunell's 90.8 QB rating, or Jason Campbell throwing 4 or 5 picks a game.
We lose either way. Might as well be Campbell getting the experience he needs rather than put it off next year.

Great running teams keep pounding it. Only then can you be consistent. You have to keep running. Saunders is too much of a girl to keep running it.
How did the team start winning last year?
Running (even with Brunnell) Running!!
Saunders system also destroys our own defense. Teams with a Saunders offenses have always had terrible defenses because he never controls the time of posession. Ball control- that's how you win championships.
We don't need his double reverses on 3rd and 1. Just pound the F*cking ball! Ask the O-line what they want. Unless you're going to get a whole new O-line, you need to get rid of this Saunders crap.
Ladell is a really good back too, averaging more per carry than Portis-
You have 5 backs - surely one of them can pound some yards out. It's a problem of determination from the booth.

I think my fear is that we''ll find out that Campbell is Heath Schuler and then they will have to call in the White Coats. (for me) (to take me to the insane asylum) I'd feel better about it if there were some rumblings from the team in favor of Campbell, but I don't get that sense. Anyone?

If Campbell fails miserably, then it will be another black eye for Gibbs, who paid a very high price to pick him at No. 25. Part of me says we should use our Top 5 pick next year on a franchise QB. The whole thing's a complete mess. We're one game better than the Raiders and Cardinals. Wow.

Thank you, sanity, I am seriously glad people that are crying for Saunder's head, are not running our team.
Darrell_Green_28 10-23-2006, 12:08 AM This is where Gibbs the Team President needs to exercise a veto over Gibbs the Head Coach.
Coach Gibbs wouldn't want to bench Brunell because of the message it sends to the team. But somebody in the organization needs to be thinking long term, and it should be the team president. If Gibbs doesn't make the switch, he'll be doing the team a huge disservice in the long run.
Just curious, isnt Gibbs the Redskins Team President also??
