Does Anyone Think Carlos Rogers Will End Up Being Good

Adam Archuleta has all the "tools". these are professional athletes, developing and maintaing physical "tools" is their job. any young guy out there has the tools.

what made Champ so good wasn't his tools, it was his instinct, his 'feel' for what the receiver was going to do. CB is a hugely instinctive position, that's why it's so coveted. instinct of course, is the one thing no one can teach, only nurture.

so far, Carlos seems totally focused on just following the guy he's after. he doesn't have a sense of the QB, the play, or anticipating (and reacting to) the WR's actions. he's just running after a guy.

i expected a whole lot more from a top 10 1st rounder, and frankly our scouts.

I hate to say it, but I dont think he has the speed to play corner. He seems to be very easly turned around. He either lacks the speed of a good corner or the agility. I hope I am wrong. We all complain about the free agents the we bring in, but the Redskins have had bad luck with high draft choices dating back to the eighties.

He has great timed speed, he just needs to concentrate on improving his footwork in coverage so it translates onto the field.

No one intercepts the ball on the skins D, They don't seem to read the QB at all. I watch the Cinci D, and all of them are sitting in zones and eyeing the QB, then they jump on passes based on a hunch. (thanks to Marvin Lewis) Greg Williams D is designed to prevent yardage, not create turnovers. So I can't blame rogers for not picking off passes, Marcus dropped an easier one last week. Rogers is a #2, who needs safety help deep.

honestly i havent seen anyone make a play on the ball since the mid part of last year... and maybe since that arizona game i havent seen anyone truly PICK a ball. all our picks have really come on deflections or desparation passes.

Marshall led the team with picks last year. That's not good.

and mostly on deflections. we DO need to get some DBs with some instincts. taylor has them, but i think he goes for the hit rather than the pick. he causes fumbles though, so hes good in my book. we just need to RECOVER them.

You know what they say. Those who can catch, play receiver. Those who can't, play DB! Hail from MCUSA!
