So whats the deal, he waits until his football career is over to get in the best shape of his life. I understand not beign sore but why would he be overweight from football??!? Mabye its becuase he spent to much time complain to Marty and Spurrier and Snyder that he forgot to do what he was supposed to. He had a great career but Im glad hes gone.

He's probably lost some weight because he's not weight training as much as he used to.

Smith was always in fabulous shape, it's hard to rip him for his worth ethic, he always showed up ready to play. I just wish he would have kept his mouth shut and been more of a team player at times, but hey, you can't have it all.

Good point Matty. I lost a lot of respect for Bruce last year after he opened his mouth. I think that bothered the ol' ball coach too. That's why he wasn't getting that many reps.

I lost all respect for the guy when he used his Cell phone on the sidelines after he got the record while the game was still going and we were lossing.

my girlffriend watches the show so I watch it with her. Id let them spend thousands of dollards fixing up my house , wouldnt you?!/

As far as Smith, dont you guys remember where Marty was here and all he did was complain becuase of how hard they had to practice. I think he used to have great work ethic but the last few years, mainly those with the Skins, he has just relied on his expereience more than his athletic ability.

I'm just glad Grandpa retired. He can do whatever he wants to now, so long as he's not getting run over on our D-line anymore.

He was always lithe, he probably had to work hard to maintain football weight. Plus, when he started D and O linemen weighed a lot less.

I do remember that, but Marty was probably the only coach that worked his older vets that hard starting from day 1 of training camp. It really is not smart. Marty's teams over his entire career had a reputaion for wearing out down the stretch. So I did not fault Bruce (and several others) who bitched about that. I sure am glad Gibbs takes the exact opposite approach. This 5 weeks off to try to keep them fresh later in the season is a terrific way to go.
