No, I think the reason is probably that we can't bring the blitz like the good ole' days of 2005. With corner depth at a minimum we can't afford to bring the heat and leave anyone in 1 on 1 coverage. The GW defense staple was the blitz, without that we're nothing special, if not downright bad. It's definitly something of concern, and IMO more-so than our QB situation. and if we're keeping track... i loose points for my first sentence. Carter is one-dimensional (almost pure speed rush), so without an interior push, he gets herded to the deep outside. Daniels is simply good - not great or threatening. Frankly, I'd recommmend starting Wynn at one of the interior spots. While he isn't going to be a run-stopper on the inside, he may provide enough of a focus for the opponents to allow his linemates a little more room. 724Skinsfan 10-19-2006, 09:32 AM Must ...resist...overwhelming...urge... Without a blitz from the DB postion it makes it hard for our guys to generate any sort of decent pass rush, especially with Griff and Sal out. Maybe Springs will be able to jump in a few times.
