Southpaw 10-17-2006, 11:02 AM sorry no link....I got it in an e-mail and the dope didnt send me a link either. I have no Idea where it came from. Probably shouldnt have posted it but.......Maybe it does mean 3 games removed but sure sounds like Gibbs is wanting his qb to get something at the skins expense,
The quote specifically says "referring to the Week 3 game at Houston when Brunell completed 22 consecutive passes in a row to establish a new league mark."
There's no maybe about it. What irks me is Gibbs is using that as validation to keep Brunell as the starter. Why doesn't he respond to the 67.0 average passer rating Brunell has in the four losses?
RobH4413 10-17-2006, 11:03 AM So your making that statement from something that you do not even know where it comes from, what context it could have been made in, or if he even said that?
I'm pretty sure he said it in some presser. Not sure which one or where it is, but my cousin called me up saying the same thing.

ArtMonkDrillz 10-17-2006, 11:18 AM Ive been a skins fan since I knew what a football was. Never pulled for another team and never will but dammit. 1 maybe 2 deep balls a game. screen after screen after screen after screen. Throwing it away. SO sick and tired of gibbs saying we fought our guts out. Look at other coaches on the sidelines. Their expressions, their passion, their stomping ,yelling, pacing chewing players asses out. Gibbs may shake his head once a quarter. Just like the rest of us Im fed up and want answers
What really concerns me is that the only other coach in the league that resembles Gibbs in terms of body language (this season) is ART SHELL!
Both of them just sort of stand around and seem almost disinterested in the game, they rarely get all fired up during the game, and they have similarly delusional sounding press conferences. I'd really like to see some hidden camera footage of Gibbs in the locker room this year, because if he seems as disinterested and unpassionate there as he seems on the sidelines maybe I can also stop getting so worked up over the games.
I feel like Gibbs and Brunell are the only ones not super pissed over this last loss (at least they aren't showing it) and that just sucks
RobH4413 10-17-2006, 11:18 AM "Jason has worked extremely hard, we have alot invested in him...he'll be the future... his situation hasn't changed....I understand the frustration, they all understand it....I think we've all talked about the things that go into the QB change... to go through the whole list again... I think its certainly Mark in this game... He's 3 games away from setting a record up here in the NFL... I'm not afraid to change anything, I don't think I'd heisitate to change anything... When it comes to Mark I think changing him isn't the right decision"
Not verbatim, but pretty close.
RobH4413 10-17-2006, 11:21 AM So to answer the starter of the thread...
I think it means Mark Brunell is starting, and probably will finish the season.

I'm not seeing a big difference in his public emotions this time around versus the first time around. Of course, you'll have all these armchair psychologists here talking about his breathing patterns and bs like that.

Or as TMC migh say, "R-tarded"

I can't say much for is old press conferences because I was about 11 when he first retired so I probably was watching GI Joe or He-Man instead of weekly pressers, but I think his sideline mannerisms are different.
I was watching one of the highlight clips online last week from the glory days and there were a few shots of Gibbs during the games. He was jumping around, getting in players' faces to fire them up, on his hands and knees pounding on the ground, etc.
Granted, he's a lot older now, but still, show some emotion regardless of the situation. The only time he seems to get fired up is when we win, but come on now. I really feel like Brunell's play is very reflective of the Gibbs' emotions. Then again, I'm all hopped up on crystal meth.
