Heart? I didn't hear one player bad mouth their team, teammates, or the coaches. There is room for hope.

There's plenty of crappy teams who don't bad mouth each other. I did hear on the radio that a lot of fingers are being pointed Holdman's way as being out of position.

is that the players and coaches saying that or the hosts and callers?

I think we're done because of our schedule, and the fact that other teams in our division are better than us (we get no free passes in our diision, even at home).

The key problem is the D. Last year, we were all like, hey, if we socre 21 points, we win. Not this year. What in the world happened? 160+ yards to the Titans on the ground? Long drive after long drive against a rookie QB? No TOs? The offense is a work in progress. I think Brunell is done, and that we need to see Campbell, at the very least so we can find out if we even have a QB there. But the D is fundamentally messed up. You cannot win without defense. That is a rule in all sports. And, sad to say, we have no defense. We look like a practice squad out there, the way teams easily mve the ball up and down the field on us. It's pathetic.

I'd like to think of myself as "cautiosly optomistic". if we go to Indy and "run the ball" we'll win the game. Am I making this too simple?

We will & we'll beat indy, that's my gut feeling. Read T. Boswell in the WP today, he quotes a couple anonymous players who say we need to get back to running. Gibbs will direct Al to do so.

It was a few players on condition of anonymity.

AS much as I want to beat Indy, it make no REAL difference as we are not going to be a threat to any serious contender. I don't want to make a show of anything. I want to be a THREAT or be making moves to accomplish that. Time to accept what is, and plan to make repairs so we can be proud of the Skins and NOT feel like this. Evaluate what we have, who produces, who does not, and get a game plan for the offseason to execute the necessary changes. Something we have not done well lately.............execute. GET THE FUTURE STARTED (as the present sucks) get JC in the game, right after the bye

As Dandy Don used to sing on Monday night Football.

'Turn out the lights, the party's over'.

This season is history, start Campbell now, we need to see if he can play and 10 games should tell us. Playoffs again in 2008 is possible. This year and next are long gone.

There is a small light of optimism inside of me that does believe that the Skins will get it together and make this works.... a very small part.....

2-4 is pretty damn bleak. Especially the way the game went yesterday. However, it's really not time to throw in the towel just yet...

With 10 games left, and the bye week, the team can make the necessary adjustments to turn this train around. No one will disagree that the talent is there, as that seems to be a running theme among the threads. Is Brunell the answer? Not sure, but if I had the option between a veteran QB who has been successful vs. a 2nd year kid vs. a journeyman 2nd string, I'll take the Vet. While 2-4 seems like a huge hole to get out of, it ain't over til it's over.

The defense has to really step up and be more disciplined. Travis Henry should never ever have the type of day he had against a good defense. Springs needs to come back desperately, but I'm not sure that's enough to turn the D ship around.

Indy coming off a bye week will only make matters worse, as they are rested and ready. Their run offense is starting to come around, and Stokley should be healed and added to their stellar air attack. Their defense is vulnerable, and hopefully Al Saunders will take advantage of it.

Bottom line is the Skins will limp into the bye week with a lot on their plate in terms of things they need to do in order to right the ship. But, if there's one man I'd want to be there, it's Joe Gibbs. I still trust him to get his act together and get these guys running on the same page. The talent is there, and the execution, while stagnant yesterday, has been seen this year. These players, and this coaching staff, really needs to dig deep and show us fans that they want to bring home a winner.
