SouperMeister 10-15-2006, 09:29 PM I hate to break this to some of you, and it's probably gonna make most of you pissed off even more, but if we finish with a worse record than Denver they switch first round picks with us, so basically we're gonna get a late first rounder. It was part of the Duckett trade.
WTF!!! Where was the logic of working that language into the trade??? Here Denver, if you finish with a better record than us, you get our high 1st round pick while we settle for your lower one. Denver must love it whenever Gibbs and The Danny call, because we toss them additional picks like free candy. And yes, this does piss me off even more!!!
Redskin 10-15-2006, 09:39 PM Once again morons come out and pin a whole game on one man's shoulders, I must apluad that. I mean portis did have a really great game didnt he? Sean Taylor and Washington did drop pics that would have prevented points, but kno your right Brunnel should have been there to pick those balls off and run for Portis. I really think Redskins fans maybe the stupidest fans in football, fanwise this might have been the worste home game ever.
mheisig 10-15-2006, 09:39 PM What you said there is scary. With a coaching staff comprising 4 former defensive coordinators on D, and 3 former headcoaches on Offense, there is NOOOOOOOOOOO way we should be getting outcoached. I can understand losing because our players aren't executing. But outcoached? Wow. Makes you wonder what the hell is going on!!! Are egos getting in the way here? Buges vs Saunders? Jerry Gray vs Blache? etc. etc.
Sure seems like we're getting outcoached. We've got blitzes that every opponent picks up and defends perfectly like, shocker, they know what's going to happen. And Al Saunder's miracle, 700-page playbook evidently consists of all screen plays.
skinsfanthru&thru 10-15-2006, 09:56 PM as much as I would love to believe so, I just can't see that happening against the schedule the team has left with the bipolar play of the team. One sec it's all cylinders clicking (atleast on offense) and the next its as if the engine had fallen out of the car. I do think if the players get their heads on straight, the team can finish the season 7-3, but their play thus far other than in the 2 wins has been abysmal. I'll never jump ship but this season has been extremely dissapointing and frustrating to watch thus far. I think today's loss ranks up there with some of the all time worst losses. The defense was playing like the tackling inept mid to late 90s skins and the pass defense kept choking when a play needed to be made. I still think they have a chance in every game left, but this jekyll and hyde crap needs to stop.

Looks like it has stopped. I think Hyde has assumed control of this team.
bertoskins2 10-15-2006, 10:25 PM lets be reallistic
the season is over
we just need to rebuild it esp the QB and our secondary

I don't know how much of this is true, but I jacked this from another board (a wizards board of all places):
"There is some good news out of all this. Apparently there's protections attached to the Duckett trade where the Skins would only swap first rounders if the difference b/w the picks is within what qualifies as being worth a high 3rd rounder. Since Denver looks like a Super Bowl contender and we look like one of the worst teams in the league, Denver will likely get stuck with our 3rd round pick as compensation." - Dat2U
I've been trying to find actual links with the specific formulas verifying this, but I've only been able to find words like "complicated formula", etc... and if this is true, I wonder what draft position differential constitutes a high 3rd rounder.
JGisLordOfTheRings 10-15-2006, 10:35 PM Looks like it has stopped. I think Hyde has assumed control of this team.
That seems to be the consensus but...skinsfanthruandthru made bery valid points.....we have the ability we just need to fucking EXECUTE like professionials. A very sad day for redskins fans as even the most diehard are confunsed and angry as well....we have (reaasonably) valid shots at all of our upcoming games. LONGSHOTS they may be, we still have chances. On the other hand, with the way we have been playing as a team on both sides of the ball, do we have a shot at winning ANY more games??

Oh yeah man, Portis and his over 4 yards a carry and 2 touchdowns were garbage today. Why don't you look up some stats before you start shooting off your mouth? I never said it was all Brunell's fault, I put a lot of it on the defense, and that may not have been directed at me, but trying to call out Clinton is just ignorant. If anybody ever had to back off of the damn line then maybe Clinton could get close 5 yards a carry, but when passes barely go 5 yards from the line of scrimmage it's kinda impressive that he runs as well as he does. So don't give me this crap about Clinton. The only problem with him was that he didn't get the damn ball enough.

Do we still swap #1s with Denver though?
