Hey Guys,
Its me (Gmanc711). Unfourunatley this week, Tony and I talked on the phone several times but couldnt get together for an extended period. We talked very briefly about his thoughts on the Giants game, and he has also agreed to do a personal interview about his carreer as a whole in addition to the normal chat, which will be posted as an mp3 over the next couple of weeks; and I have a couple other things we've talked about that I'm going to save for later.
Quickly his thoughts on the Giants game and this coming game....
First and formost, I thought that Peirce and Arrington did play a big part in the Giants preperations for the Redskins. They really knew the defense, and I think in the long run that really helped the Giants production. Even though Arrington didn't do too much on the feild, I still think he made an impact.
Offensivley, they knew where we were going every single play. They were able to get a handle on Clinton Portis, our offensive line did not play well, Brunell did not play well, but it was just a game where no one really played well.
Going into Tenneesee, its a game we have to play well in. This is a team that just gave the Colts a serious run for their money and they are gaining confidence. We have to be very careful, because they also do not have anything to lose coming into the game at this point. If we play our game, I think its a game we can and will win, but if we think the Titans are going to be a pushover, we will be in trouble.
Finally as far as Shawn Springs, I think he will make improvements, but don't look for him to be a quick fix. After players have surgeries, it takes almost a year until they are the player they were before they left. If you look at Arrington a few years ago (although he has declined overall), Big Ben and even Carson Palmer to a point in the pocket aren't the same until they are comfortable again.
Once again, sorry for the quick one this week, its been a long one but I will see you after a hopeful win vs the Titans.
