BDBohnzie 10-12-2006, 11:58 AM what would steve perry do?
He would reunite Journey and lead us to the promised land.
At this moment, McNabb is the best QB in the league, much less weaker than Campbell. The Eagles may not have the playmakers, but they are the best team in the NFC East.
The Skins need their D to pick it up. Springs being sidelined has hurt the most, but I think once he comes back, you'll see a spring the the D's step.
Whether it's Brunell, Collins, or Campbell, the offense lives and dies by the run. We need to establish the run and set up the play fakes, and the fly routes. It'll all come together. 4-3 or 3-4 into the bye week can set up for a glorious 2nd half.
mike340 10-12-2006, 12:43 PM Please don't be silly, and don't just focus on one aspect of my post. I'm tired of looking forward to posts by Dallas supporters knowing that they'll be more positive than those posted by (many) Redskin fans.
To the best of my recollection, only one person criticizing Brunell earlier admitted he played well later. And I think you were it. So take pride in your accomplishment, but don't give others credit they don't deserve.
On a prior post, you pointed to an article that said Brunell was the worst comeback QB since 1996. (I don't have the location at this time.) Two things stood out:
(1) By their criterion, Ramsey is one of the worst, and his record when they could come back in the 4th quarter was 0-11. Brunell is only worse because he has played many more games.
(2) QBs get NO credit for maintaining a lead. I disagree with this. I agree if the QB is on a team that can get rushing first downs when the other team knows they will rush. But when some passes are necessary this should also be credited to the QB. One of Brunell's strengths is that he doesn't throw many picks. So to ignore this in his case is significant.
And the person I'm referring to is "chief chucking my rat"... oops "spear". Oops, make those all CAPITAL LETTERS.
That's funny, because a post like this makes me think Mark Brunell is on the board. Chill out Mark. You can only break 250 yards three times a season. Hell, even 400 yards is a fairy tale for you. But don't worry buddy. Even though your production has become as erratic as your old pal Patrick Ramsey, the majority of this forum will still support you because Coach Gibbs loves you.:laughing2

Longtimefan 10-12-2006, 12:48 PM I know 2-3 isn't great.. and I know we have issues to overcome... but we DO have the talent and we do have smart coaches. All we need is fans that believe and trust... I do!!! Trust in the Skins. Give them the 12th man this weekend. It's time to ROCK and make this season REAL!!!!!!!!!
There are many of us faithful who are going to hang right in there with you (including me) but there is a bottom line that is not going away. We basically have four games left to our season that will determine any hope of a playoff berth following this season. The two games left with Philly, one each with the Giants and Cowboys will pretty much determine our fate. Regardless of what we do in those other games on the schedule, those are the only one's that really matter.

I have no problem with the fact that your opinion differs from mine. You just made some nasty comments directed towards the Brunell haters, which I thought deserved a response. I made a silly response to lighten the mood a little bit, so things didn't get out of hand.

har har.... There is a lot to be said about postive thought. The mental game is just as important the the physical one. Postive energy is REAL and it if it comes in a dose of 92,000 it WILL have an affect!

We should all rub our foreheads with crystals and wear pyramid shaped hats to focus that positive energy into an invisible 12th player who will lead our offense into the endzone, trip their offense at the line of scrimmage, and give Jeff Fisher a wedgie every couple of minutes.
ArtMonkDrillz 10-12-2006, 02:08 PM the question is...
what would steve perry do?
I'll tell you what he wouldn't do, and that's Stop; as in "stop believing."

Whatever. Be a negative ninny if you want....

Negative? Who's being negative? Positive thinking is fine and all, but it takes more than that to accomplish anything in sports/work/life than positive thinking and a chipper smile. We could be the happiest people in the world but if the players don't do their jobs out there on the field it isn't going to mean shit.
I say we need anxiety and we need to fret over the games because that adds excitement when we pull out a game like the Monday Night Miracle last season. If we totally ignored the possibilty that we could every lose again why would we even watch the games, just to say "I told you so"? It's the struggle that creates the drama that keep sports interesting.
And what in the hell is a "ninny" exactly??
