SlabHurta 10-10-2006, 10:25 PM I am one of those pissed off fans who wants to know wut the hell the front office was thinking picking up T.J. Duckett for a third round pick. He played like 2 downs against Dallas and has been invisible ever since. This is a guy who ran on 3rd and 1 and 4th and 1 and goalline situations for the Falcons his entire career. And almost 85% of the time he would either pick up the first down or the touchdown. So wtf is up with him not getting that carry last week against New York on 4th and 1, rather then Gibbs being so conservative and attempting the field goal, which the much also worthless John Hall missed. Also, against he Jags we had a 3rd and 2 to close out the game and probably not even go to overtime, and we rushed Betts and he didn't pick it up, when Duckett has done stuff like that his entire career.
Gibbs did mention in a press conference recently that he reall wanted to get him in there and would love to see him play, I'm not satisfied with this waste yet. We've had to many opportunities to to use Duckett for the coaches to not use him. It just makes me mad. How about you guys?
EternalEnigma21 10-10-2006, 10:39 PM wow... tell us how you really feel!
So what's the conspiracy?
Hogroll 10-10-2006, 10:45 PM I thought he was out on injury right now. Ankle? Hamstring?

Gibbs has Buyer's remorse disorder?
SouperMeister 10-10-2006, 11:59 PM I for one am extremely pissed at the cavalier attitude we have toward using draft choices to build good, cheap depth. Champ for Portis? Sure, and we'll throw in a 2nd round pick for good measure. Brunell about to get cut by the Jags? Wait, we'll give you a 3rd for him. Trade up to get Jason Campbell? Here Denver, take 3 more of our picks, including a #1, and we won't let the kid see the light of day. Same with Duckett, but we "only" gave up a 3rd so that he can ride the pine. Then there's Brandon Lloyd - let's give up a 3rd and a 4th, sign him to a long term contract, then throw him the ball about as often as we threw it to Taylor Jacobs.
Wonder why we have no depth? We keep trading picks for guys with limited roles. Is this any way to build a long-term winner? I love how New England and Philly stockpile draft picks, and build a team through the draft first and fill the few remaining holes with free agency. I call that the "anti-Danny" approach to running a football team. I hope that Gibbs and The Danny can win consistently with their approach, but I won't hold my breath on that.

I don't know who is actually doing most of the negotiating in the 'Skins FO but he makes me scratch my head. He gets the players he and Gibbs want but the picks he gives for them are just excessive. I think many other GM's could get the same players and give up much less for them.

like waiting a month and getting lloyd for free... "but we have a 3rd and a 4th, and uh, we don't really want to USE them, now do we?"
What the big deal? If we aquired TJ for insurance, can we not deal him if he is now not needed? Why are we not feeling good about Portis returning early? Have we lost something?
