IMO, this statement is kind of asinine. It's not that I mean offense, it's just that I don't care how I sound.
Anywho, do you really think Brunell's going to get any better at this stage of his career? Asking an old dog to learn new tricks at this point doesn't make sense to me. He is what he is. The team has been designed to play a certain brand of football - geared towards what he does.
You're right. This team is geared towards dink and dunk passing and throwing the ball away. That's why Al Saunders was brought in, to run the same conservative offense that Gibbs already had installed.
Saying that Brunell is what he is and to just accept it, is basically admitting defeat. So unless everyone around the most important player on the field performs perfectly, they're screwed because the quarterback won't be able to win the game for them. That's the winning attitude that'll have this team at 6-10 at the end of the season.
