The song is better known as "I Hate Myself For Loving You" From Joan Jett and the Blackhearts....which I happen to like that version of the song.

Shame on her for letting her song be butchered like that.

I hope she was well paid at least.

Why is she? I don't know WHY she is.

She's cashing in on the popularity of using music to bash our country and our President like Green Day and Dave Matthews and even Barbara Striesand (yuck). They think that putting some inflammatory stuff in their songs and concerts will make certain people like them more, and I guess to an extent they're right. A lot of immature people who live on MTV bought the "Rock against the President" CDs.

If I actually liked her music and went to a concert, I'd be going to hear music, not to hear her whine about her country and get into politics. I can't stand when singers and actors feel they have to inject their political views into their work. Usually, they don't know what they're talking about, but even if they did...people aren't paying for tickets to seminars, they just want to hear music.

She's one of the people who inspired the line "just shut up and sing".

Yes, she DOES have freedom of speech to say whatever she wants, but I also have freedom of speech to tell her to shut up. :)

Anyways, her lyrics and behavior aside, she's still a nasty chick who couldn't make a CD without tons of re-mixxing and patching up on her voice.

Let's not turn this into a political debate. If dubya was taking care of business we wouldn't have musicians writing songs about what a crappy job he's doing. We all have the right to speak our minds, I don't know why musicians are supposed to stifle themselves.

C'mon Brud, you know the rules don't apply to us.

Like our parents used to say, do as I say and not as I do.

Musicians should be able to speak their minds just like anyone else. But I don't give their opinions any more weight than I give to the crazy homeless guy who sits on the street corner and screams about the government implanted microchip in his ass.

However, Pink can give a reliable assessment of the merits of penile implants.

I'm reminded of this SNL classic (http://youtube.com/watch?v=oTD7FP1mAYk)

They can...just not when they're being paid to sing. :)
