But a 22- or 23-episode season won't stretch from September to May without interruption. Explains ABC Entertainment president Steve McPherson: "We've really just listened to the audience about the repeats, and it felt like this was really the best way to run the show." So they get to have new Lost episodes for both May and Nov sweeps basically instead of running one long season and then having it finish before May Sweeps. That's not the best concession for not having my favorite show on for 3 months but at least it's something.
