In the Jags ranking it says:
Credit the Jacksonville defense for not making excuses despite a rash of injuries. 'We got out butts kicked. Plain and simple,' DE Paul Spicer said.
Is this true, were they injured? Could this have been part of our success?
and if so why wasn't anyone saying that during the game....people love to take credit away from us...
Anyways it makes me sick that they still have the Jags above us, and refuse to give us credit.
both of their starting DEs were out (one's on IR, and the other was just hurt). Matt Jones also really didn't play in the game due to a hamstring.

We did fine without Springs and Salave'a.

How often do players say, "We would have won, but we're really banged up. If all our starter's had played we would have blown them out." The Jacksonville player did what every player in the league does, IMHO. No credit.
As for the Eagles, they are better than last year, but the usual suspects are getting a little carried away. They have beaten really, really bad teams and BLEW a game against the Giants which they should have won. Too many people are a little too quick to make grandiose statements about Donovan and they all seem top work for ESPN. Dan Patrick was ranting yesterday as though what Donovan had done this year proves once and for all that he is on par with the all time greats. Please. Still innacurate. Still plays without emotion. He will not be able to throw that pass to L.J Smith against good teams and then what will he have? They still can't run the football which is why they gave up the lead to the Giants. Yes, they are better and he is better because he is healthy, but to me that doesn't mean they are Super Bowl bound. This drives me nuts, because the Donovanists are going to push me to root for the Cowboys this weekend, because I don't think I can bear listening to them talk about how the Eagles have proved they are better without T.O. blah, blah, blah. The very idea that the Eagles were the victims of Owens is laughable. They were the ones that signed him. Caveat Emptor. They made an aggressive play for him when we all thought he was going to Baltimore. Now they're the victims. I don't think so.

I wouldn't call them "worthless" often they are a RELATIVELY accurate barometer for where most fans rank your team.

Where's the link? This was just dissucsed in another thread about attaching a link so all of us can look at what you are talking about. Yes we could go to ESPN.com and then search all over and find the page, then click on the page and wait to see what your talking about. Or we could just click
ESPN.com - NFL - Power Rankings week 5 (http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/powerranking)

I usually dont think too much of power rankings and Im not really concern that the skins are only ranked in the middle of the league (due to their 2-2 record). What really bugs me is that the eagles are ranked so high. They've beaten the texans, the 9ers and the packers and lost the only game they played against a competitive team, the giants. Yet some how they're the fourth best team in the league? Their wins are against teams that are ranked 25 28 and 29 by espn. How can that possibly translate into them "flying high"? Certainly this is not the best one loss team in the league.
Have you seen the Eagles offense? When Westbrook plays they are probably the best in the league. If it weren't for Reid, they would be 4-0.

Yeah right. Andy Reid is the albatross around the Eagles' neck. I would be surprised if the Eagles win more than eight games. As I re-read this post I'm scouring it for signs of sarcasm , because surely you can't be serious.

the eagles have beat up on the 49ers, the packers, and the texans. they're 0-1 against decent teams and quite a bit over rated right now.
they are a good team, and mcnabb is a top flight QB, but they haven't been tested yet.

Well obviously you didn't watch the Eagles play the G-men. If Reid punts on 4th and 1 that game is over.
Nice try though.

They are going to dropkick the Cowboys (who are without question the most over rated team in the league). Owens will probably score since he will be the best player on the field.
