Suspension handed down-5 games, no pay

Slap on the wrist. I don't know why it's so hard for people to translate what happens in the sports world to real life - this guy went to work and stomped someone in the face with cleats on.

If I went into work tomorrow, put on cleats and stomped someone in the face, you think the boss would say "Well, take 5 weeks off with no pay and we'll see you back here." Hell no - I'd get fired and charged with Aggravated Assault.

Well guys how the play went after Julius score Hayneworth ripped Gurode helmet ( not as in some news reports where it says that the helmet came off you can clearly see him ripping it off) and stepped on gurode face twice opening a wound that required 30 stitches.

Parcell says he's ok and will practice Wednesday but Gurode said he had blur vision after he came out with the stitches.

as TAFKAS has report the NFL just gave him a 5 game suspension and additional fines can come I still believe this is two low for what he did because this wasn't on the heat he had time to know what he was doing the play was over for a few seconds already.

It appears Gurode may file a claim on him on criminal charges for the incident.

I'm really surprise of what has been said in this board about the incident I knew there would be some reactions against what haynesworth did, and member knowing the cowardliness of his actions.

But I also expected some post of members being glad it happened to a rival player... which for my surprise it didn't happen which shows me the class in the members of the boards and the maturity to divide the human side of the event with the fan side.

I would expect he is out for the rest of the year, atleast. Look at it this way, to this point in time, he has not given any explaination as to why he did it. It would make more sense if it did it being provoked, but he did it out of cold-blood. Dallas scored a TD, and he took off the other guys helmet and stepped on his face. Are you kidding me, anyone who does that for straight emotion in the game, so be kept away from the game. I wanna see a lifetime ban, but that is too harsh. It really needs to be 1 year no pay, and nothing less.

So yeah, me being a nice Skins fan, I went to a Cowboys board, to ask how their player is doing. One of the guys said, Titans fans are classy, and if ST did the same move, Skins fans would not be so classy, they would support him.

I went on to argue, saying that what ST has done on/off the field, is nothing compared to Hanyesworth. I said "dont give me that bull". They all started going off and cussing me out, saying that I should be worried about my excuses that I am gonna have to make when the Skins get clobbered, cussing me out, etc. When my first concern was the well-being of their player. Talk about dicks.

Haha, its funny, because everyone here is concerned about the Cowboys players...
I'm with you. Maybe this shouldn't be a thread so I can be classless by myself. He'll probably play next week. Boo hoo I'm a cowboy. Woohoo I'm a cowboy we crushed the Titans. Whoopdeefuckingsurprisedoo they cover this shit more than the skins game on sportscenter the next day.

is it just me, or did the cowboys look like a bunch of pussies for letting this happen and doing nothing? i would hope that if this happened to a redskin, someone would step up and at least TRY to do something about it

like pulling out a shotgun and blasting his face off.

seriously, not cool. 5 weeks, no pay... over $500,000. longest suspension for an in game act ever.

No body noticed it was after the play when they noticed there was a little shuffle but the refs where all over and the guys git more concern with Gurode.

But they're really upset they're trying to convice gurode to present Criminal charges against him

the amout of how mutch he will lose is around 190,000 wich is a lot but he may also get fined by the NFL

This incident is not football-related. I completely feel that he should be charged with attempted murder. If his cleats were a few inches in a different position, the Cowboy player could be blind or even worse, it could have hit a major blood vessel and killed him. 30 stitches was the best possible outcome of this attack. He's very lucky. I hope he DOES file charges. A 5-game suspension is ridiculous. I hope Fisher keeps his word to Parcells and gives him a stiffer punishment, because in my opinion, the 5-game suspension is NOTHING.

I don't care if it's a Dallas Cowboy, like I said, this is not a football incident, it's a crime against a human being by an idiot with severe issues and no regard for others' lives. He should be gone for the year AT LEAST. He also should've been cuffed and booked on the spot. It was attempted murder at the most and assault and battery at the minimum, witnessed by thousands, actually millions of people. He should be prosecuted as if he did this on the streets and should be made an example of for the kids who watch football and any other thugs that would have it in them to duplicate his actions on the field in the future.

I'm glad to see that people here can also put aside feelings for the Cowboys as a team and side with what's right morally.

I hope he recovers and has no lasting affects from being attacked.

Also, Haynesworth is due back for a game in Philly if Fisher doesn't extend the suspension, so I hope the Eagles fans are their normal jerky selves and give this bum what he deserves when he comes onto the field again.
