As alway's nice job THAT GUY, I will keep you informed of Gibbs next press confrence so you'll know what to think this week.

maybe if you actually read my posts you'd know my opinions have nothing to do with what gibbs says in a press conference and how worthless i think they are :P Not to mention what i was saying had NOTHING to do with the redskins, joe gibbs, or what i think AT ALL. Nice try though.

maybe you should go back and read your own posts where you contradict yourself and then lash out when someone points it out.

I really know what I say and have said, and I believed all was true, but if you have spent time reading all my posts I have also written that I believe Gibbs can win in spite of Brunell, further more just because I did bet the skins doesn't mean I didn't feel that all those things would come true, it just means that I felt even though we were at a great disadvantage we would find a way to keep it close defensivly as I am not impressed at all with the Jag's offense, yes I did take the over but didn't expect that kind of scoring in that game, as probably everyone else on the planet, but I was figuring some scoring from the defeneses which didn't happen. Did I expect our offensive line to play as well as they did? No way! But they put together maybe thier best performance in years, perhaps early on it was just a matter of them becoming accustom to each other and the new blocking schmes brought in by Saunders? Either way kudos to both aspects of the game that I felt would struggle, they both played beyond expectations, so in closing I absoultly felt we were at a disadvantage with our offensive line, which in turn would produce another lousy performance by Brunell, but I also felt we had a similar advantage with thier offensive line, turns out the latter was true but not the former which made the difference in the game, Brunell looked good he was stepping into his throws and delivering the ball with a little zip on it downfield, just goes to show he's cappable, but not willing when the heat is on, if we want to win it all we will have to give him that kind of protection the rest of the way, if that can be accomplished we can win it all!

By the way that guy take the over this week!;)

Hmmmmm..............in reading your post O, I find wisdom in your words. Good protection=Good Brunell. Hmmmm................maybe it's not Brunell???
And remember...........Joe has three rings by less than superstar QB's with Good protection

I've been saying all offseason, if your biggest offensive worry is Mark Brunell, you will have a very successful offense.

This isn't Aaron Brooks or some journeyman snob. This is Mark Brunell. QB of the Jaguars in their heyday. Man who led the 2005 Redskins to the playoffs despite little offensive talent. Yes, he has issues. But he is a constant, not a varible. As long as the offense is working around him, he will complete a high percentage, scramble when necessary, not throw picks, and win more than he loses.

offiss, I disagree with your statement as is, but you hit the main point. Last year proved that Brunell can certainly hit the long throws, especially early in the season while his arm is not tired. The problem this year (and it has been seen before) is that he has not been willing to step into his throws when pressure is in his face. That is what he needs to do to really make me believe in him again. I don't think he is throwing deep because he won't look deep for fear of getting hit. I hope I'm wrong. Although toughness is certainly a virtue for a NFL quarterback, I think we have to keep his health in mind. We don't have anything behind Brunell. So he, at age 36, can't be pulling Leftwich's and stepping into injury. Just can't happen. Yes, he throws off his back foot more than I'd like and loses accuracy, but keep the big picture in mind here; he needs to make it through the season.

I get the feeling that if we are in a tied Super Bowl in the 3rd quarter and Santana breaks free on a deep post, Brunell will step right into a D Lineman to deliever the ball in stride.
