I don't see how this reflects on the Boys at all. Stuff like this has never been even remotely an issue with him. If you want to fault them there are plenty of other reasons but for crissake realize that clearly there is something a little more important going on here. They guy is a world class douchebag. There is no one who would dent that. But he is also a human being who does charity work among some other positive things. I hope this is just a blip on the psychological radar and we can go back to bashing him fairly for things that aren't as important.

What?

I'm not saying I wish the man harm, but I really can't believe the gushing I'm seeing over this guy.

I have to agree. TO being a nutcase that tried to commit suicide has no affect whatsoever on my day to day life. Three to five of our soldiers die every week in Iraq, and there's not so much as a mention of it, but a rich diva wide receiver, that just about everyone on this forum hated before today, tries to kill himself and there's a nine page thread about it.

some of you are stupid asses..... a player you can hate, but this is still a human.......

Some humans I love and hope live forever. But I don't know all humans, and I can't possibly care about all human beings. TO is someone I just don't care about, my friend. With or without him on this Earth, I'll get along just fine.

In the words of Dolph Lundgren, "If he dies, he dies."

I have to admit the only reason I even care about this story is the fantasy implications on my team.
I'm following this story closely for the same reason; especially since crappy Daunte is my QB and Cooley has been M.I.A. in terms of production.

As a player, I hope he can't suit up for the Cowboys for a long time.

As a person, I can't say I'm glad he tried to kill himself because I'm not a psycho, but I sure as hell am not sorry about it. I could give two craps if that dude lives or dies. That's the God's honest truth.

Well, we don't need to pay a ton of attention to it. He tried to die and lived, so let him get his help and move on.

End of story, no further media circus necessary. Who knows, the media could've contributed to his stress and looniness. He lived to impress them (or at least get their attention) and has been failing lately. His 3 catches for 19 yards against the Skins, dropped passes (especially in the end zone) and broken finger certainly didn't deserve any headlines. He needs attention like a toddler and it probably wasn't good for him psychologically.

Well this is a football forum, and TO is a football player. That's why it gets a 9-page thread. If you go to a politics forum or an Iraq war forum, you'll see plenty of long-ass threads with plenty of passionate posts.

But I'm in agreement. If TO killed himself I'd still be singing Jimmy Cracked Corn and I Don't Care.

Gotta disagree with you there...I hear casualty reports EVERY single day on the radio news, but the media is only reporting it for the same reason they care about Owens...controversey. The media overall doesn't care a bit about ANYONE's life, they just want to get people to look at their headlines.

I hate to make a comparison between T.O. and our soldiers at war because, really, we're comparing apples and oranges.

But as far as a newsworthy event, the war has been going on for a few years now and we've become somewhat numb to the reality of the killing and the violence that goes on every day.

T.O. on the other hand is entertainment. So whenever his name hits the airwaves, it's like Paris Hilton did something.

OK, back to the topic. Sorry...

Owens has earned all of the "compassion" he receives. You reap what you sow, T.O.

As a human who's someone's family member, I feel bad for anyone's loss...but as an individual...I also find it hard to feel so sorry for him.

No offense Monk but your team is garbage. Hey, did you go to sherwood?
