It was certainly a step in the right direction, but he has to show it against more than the Texans, obviously. But it took just one game to get him on track last year, so maybe that sort of spark is what he needs. Recall how bad he sucked before the 4th quarter in Dallas last season. Then he rolled until he got hurt.

Yesterday was good for two reasons, one, we got the win, and two, we won't hear the Brunell bashing until we lose another game. Brunell's performance yesterday was the best thing that could have happened to him, and this team at least for another week. Mark my words, if we don't turn in a repeat performance on sunday against the Jags. the bench boys will be back. Stay tuned for the mood next monday.

I cant believe that everyone is giving MB props for this game, we played probably one of the worst teams in the NFL. I think I could sit back there with no pressure and dump the ball of 22 times in a row, you have to give credit to the recievers, the ball placement was not all that good. On the TD to Randle El the ball was behind him and he was only 30 feet away, on the Patten Catch MB almost got him killed (that was only a 25yd pass and he over threw it again), Llyods grab was great another bad pass. If MB leaves his recievers open to big hits against the Jags there are going to be some players carted off the field, they have a nasty d that likes to punish. 24-27 for 267yards that is a little over 11 yards per pass, and if was mostly YAC that padded his numbers. We should have put Campbell in during garbage time for some experience. Congrats MB for beating what equates to a college team, without throwing a pass over 25 yds.

Does it worry anyone else that he still can't go deep? Of his 24 completions, he hit 3 for longer than 20 yards, and one of those 3 was a shuffle pass. Granted, 22 in a row is great, and the W is key, but I can't help but feel any other decent defense will be able to put pressure on Brunell, and snuff out the short stuff.

that's my big concern. followed by our alarming defensive problems. this week didn't prove much at all except Clinton Portis is a good thing.

Didn't seem to me that he needed to go deep. The 31-7 score would indicate the offense had a pretty good thing going. If another team focuses on the short passing game, Saunders will start throwing the ball a little farther. When the defense falls back to cover the longer passing plays we'll go pack to the short passing game.

Last year Mark went deep quite a few times. I'd be concerned if he has never shown the ability to get the ball downfield. Ask Roy Williams if he can still throw the ball deep.

He didn't need to go deep for that game because Houston's D is so atrocious, but we need the option against everyone else on our schedule. I'd rather try a couple of deep routes in a game like this where getting one picked off doesn't affect the outcome, as opposed to trying it for the first time against the Jags, where we will need something like that to stretch their D.

He hit Patten on a nice rope for 25.

I don't worry about his arm strength at all.

All he needs is to get comfortable in this offense and with his new WRs.

Totally, I was glad to see that

First of all, if Peyton nor Donovan could 'dump' the ball 22 straight times, I doubt any of us here could. Secondly, you're deceived if you think the Texans equate to a college team.

Honestly, I believe you were being a tad bit sarcastic but if you can't see anything positive about yesterday's performance I don't know what to tell you.
