yes have to the old man credit he made about 5 passes across the line of scrimmage. come lete be real it great to get a win but who did they really beat the team who had and maybe will have the first pick in the draft again. listen nobody said he could'nt throw screens or two yard outs. his farthest pass down field should have been intercepted by went through the defenders hands. lets see what he does these next two weeks that will be his real test. i promise you he will not be able to throw screens all day against jacksonville. so hail to the redskins its great to win finally. but lets dont go over board here. most of his yardage came on portis run for 78 yards and a screen to randle el.

I had reasonable doubt after last week but it's pretty amazing that with our best offensive weapon actually starting, good o-line play, and another week getting used to Saunders' system what this team is capable of. Some are going to scoff, and some already have, about the fact that this offensive explosion was against a barely pro team in the Texans, but if I'm not mistaken this is also the same Texan team that was destroyed by the Eagles and yet that was a great sign of supposed things to come for the eagles. Brunell made great choices to get the ball into the hands of his playmakers and let them do what they're getting paid all those millions to do. Here's to hoping this is just a sliver of what we will get to see from the offense this season especially since we haven't even really seen Llyod, Cooley, or anything long downfield.

but for crying out loud can the team cut back on the friggin penalties.

because our qb cant throw the ball downfield, and the reason people talked about the eagle is because mcnabb is healthy, also mcnabb throws a forward pass not a sideline pass or behind the line of scrimmage pass every play

I know -- Samuels and Jansen had their hands full today ... literally. I counted holding calls on Rabach, Samuels, and twice for Jansen. Sometimes I wonder if we've already seen the best days of Jon. Let's hope not.

while he does throw downfield a bit more, with the Eagles running the west coast offense the majority of Mcnabbs passes r within 10 yards of the line of scrimmage just like we saw from Brunell and company today.

that true but he campable of throwing the ball downfield unfortually brunell cant when he tried today one went throw the defenders hands and patten had to jump to the roof to catch it.

There are three parts to the passing game: blocking, throwing and catching. Blocking is 51% of the formula.

Last week, Brunell took a lot of heat. Some of it deserved, but a lot was directed personally at him when it was blocking breakdowns, some of it receivers and play calling. Today, Brunell played the game exactly the way we need him to, the ball at right place at the right time. Kudos to him. Keep it up, Mark!

This offense seems to count on yards-after-the-catch. Now I understand why ARE is here. Brunell fits this offense as well as Trent Green did in KC.

I'm glad to say I was one of the FEW on this site that wasn't bashing him last week!!! Congrats Mark!!!

I hope you and mark are very happy together...

j/k. I know you're a completely better person than me for not venting any frustrations stemming from him sucking a couple of weeks in a row... I feel like he deserves the accolades he recieves for the record and the win, but I think we should start more bench brunell threads than ever before if thats what it takes to get the guy to complete more balls to players than fans!

hess... you are the F'ing man!
