Too many penalties by the O-line today, and I think you're forgetting they were playing the worst defense in the league.
Portis is the man that makes the whole thing go. Dude is tough. But Clinton, please don't hold the ball out unless you know you're going to get into the end zone.
Now, if the O-line plays like that next week, I'll happily change my vote.

He had complete control of the ball when he extended it. What's the problem?

Overall looking at the first 3 games as a whole, i'd agree. Need to take a few more shots...
However, there was no reason to do it today. We were rolling with what was working, so I have no problems dinking and dunking it down the feild if its going to work.
Again looking at the first 3 games, I'm in that boat too. Today though, no problems from me.
yes,the off was clicking today, and brunell was almost perfect, but if everything is going so well why dont you throw a long pass at least once,it doesnt get any easier than the texans secondary, youve got to try it at least once

I would guess that they took the deep one away. That might explain the 240 yards rushing as well as the 20 or so short completions that Brunell had.

it's gotta be Portis not only for production but also for the energy and heart he adds to the offense. Brunell did a great job of managing the game and getting the passes to his playmakers, but almost all of his passes were within ten yards of the line of scrimmage. I would give the nod to the o-line if not for them accounting for almost half a dozen penalties.

I go with Portis. He's the missing ingredient. When he's in, defenses must play the Redskins differently.
Brunell gets a lot of credit, too. He had a perfect day and should get credit for the accomplishment after all the heat he's been under.
Go Skins!

Definitely Portis. As others mentioned, the O-line played against the worst D in the universe. They did fine, but each guy on the line still managed to get a holding penalty. That's not going to fly against a better D. That said, the O line did manage to make Betts look like an unstoppable force...

Portis gets mine. He really set the table and his TD run at the end of the half was the clincher. The funny thing before that TD run I was upset they let so much time run off the clock and did not call a time out (we had two at the time) and let 25 sec's run off the clock between plays. I was just thinking that we needed to try and score a TD not just settle for a FG. Then he just blasted up the middle. Portis should have scored on that first long run and I think he would have if he cut left to the middle of the field and not right where he was run out of bounds.
