I still feel the play calling was conservative, and we got really really lucky with the fumble, and the personal foul call, or it would have been an 8 pt game with time left. Secondary still looks terrible. We still need to open it up, with some deep play, otherwise we will NOT have a good time at JAX. Also do not expect Brunell to get that much time again to throw with the Jags front line.

But Hoo, you have to look at as a building block. No doubt, this offense took a step forward this week. That's the underlying moral story here.

seems the game plan was tweaked to keep MB in the pocket less w/ quick throws. So they executed the game plan. If he was supposed to look deep, he didn't, that's all that worries me.
I expect to see some max protect v. J'ville. We'll have to beat them in the air, they're gonna stack the box w/8.
This game has a couple subplots; MB & Wright vs. old team & Leftwich cimin hime.

Hey, we beat a bad team I dont think anyone is questioning that. If we played (say the Seahawks in Seattle today), it could have been alot closer. Overall though, we just played a much better football game on both sides of the ball.

Brunell, as much shit as you want to give him for only throwing short, played a good, smart game. We may need to open it up a little more down the strech this year, but he played well today, no doubt.

Portis coming back was a lift for the offense, somthing I think Springs coming back to the D can do as well since we should be able to blitz a lot more with him back.

I'm very happy with the team today. I understand it was the Texans, but it was still (hopefully) the buliding block that I was hoping that this game was going to be.

yeah, my point is that looked like the game plan & he executed it. I love the ball control, but we do need to air it out a little

I think it was a combo of a bad team meeting a good team that is just starting to wake up.

Today's positives:

--The offensive line controlled the line of scrimmage. If it wasn't for the penalties it would have been a flawless performance.

--We finally got Brunell in a rhythm. I don't care if it was just short and quick stuff, the bottom line is he got the job done and got everyone involved. That will work wonders for his confidence. If anyone needed a game like that it was him.

--Yes Portis is that important. He's the straw that stirs the Redskins' drink. He changes the entire dynamic of this offense.

The negatives:

--Penalties, penalties, penalties.
