There is a Hampton Inn close by as well. Located in an office park where you can practically spit at FEDEX Field out the back door.
My wife and I stayed there in April of 2005.
On business, I've stayed at a Hampton Inn, 599 Massachusetts Ave NW, Was. DC 20001
Phone 202 842-2500 Only 7-8 blocks from the Mall, and only a couple of blocks from the Metro.

Okay, thanks for the info. I just wanted to give everyone an update (not sure if you really care or not) but I have ordered my tickets. I will be sitting right behind the Redskins bench, section 102 row 24. Right on the 40 yeard line. I should have my tickets in hand next week.
I CAN NOT BELIEVE I AM GOING TO BE SITTING IN FEDEX IN A FEW SHORT WEEKS.....

Fly into Dulles and stay at the closest Marriott.

I found a supper cheap flight into DCA that gives me tons of time to spend in DC/Maryland etc. Now just looking for a hotel that is cheap as well. I think we are going to a Wizards or Capitals game one night as well. I think this metro idea is a good thing except it seems like there are a few different metro lines. I think taking cabs (everywhere) will be super pricey.

Cabs are VERY pricey. Metro is great, and don't worry about the "lines". It's a lot easier then it sounds. Just get a metro map. It's very simple, really.

Sweet. Thanks. I am so pumped, and can not wait for my Rudy moment (as noted above). All I am going to be wearing the whole weekend is Redskins gear, and a little Canadian stuff so people know I am Canadian.

Are you going to rent a car or looking to use the Metro and how long are you going to stay? The reason I ask is because it would change where I would stay and several people a assuming that you will have a car. I've never used the Metro to go to a game but to get around DC its the only way to go.

As a few others have indicated, Bethesda is nice. I live in Prince Georges County and reside less than 4 miles from FedEx Field. Like DaveyFoSho posted, P.G. County is a place you should try to avoid.
Ronald Reagan International Airport (DCA) is the most convenient airport to fly in to.
There are a few nice (some upscale) hotels in Crystal City (Arlington, Va) that are only a few blocks from the airport. Most can be found on Jefferson Davis Highway. In addition, those hotel's are approximately a mile from Arlington National Cemetery, and about two miles from the White House. To list a few: Marriott Crystal Gateway, Embassy Suites, Sheraton, Hampton Inn & Suites, Holiday Inn, etc. Price depends on avalibility so try to book in advance to take advantage of the best rates. The best value will probably be found at Hampton Inn. It's a nice, newly remodeled facility. Most offer shuttle bus service to/from the airport, as well as various tourist spots. Since you're wanting to visit DC, you might consider a hotel there. Arlington, Virginia VA - Hotels, Motels - See All Discounts (http://hotel-guides.us/virginia/arlington-va-hotels.html)
To get to the stadium, I would suggest taking the blue line on the metro. Exit @ the Morgan Station. You're walking distance from the stadium. I think the station @ Largo Centre has a shuttle bus service (to the stadium) however, I'm not sure if that still holds true or not. I hope this information has been helpful. Keep us posted.
WARNING: On game day this place gets a lil wild but, we'll treat you to one hell of a game! See ya at FedEx Field. :)
WARNING II: lol, Before any of you guys start to assume , ..... "No, I do not work for the city of Arlington, nor do I work at any hotels." lol
(gosh... lol, I feel as if I've just written my first book)
