"Win one for the Gipper"

With the passing of President Reagan it reminded me that that movie was one of the first "Football" movies I ever saw as a kid [I'm 42].

Without getting into a LEFT vs. RIGHT thread I would like to say I think the guy did a good job for this Country and should be remembered with respect and honor.

You know what guys, it makes me think maybe we[American's] should all get back on the same team and try and win one for ourselves.

Rest in peace Mr. President and may God bless your wife and these United States.

heck I'm 42 and if I knew I was going to live this long I would have taken better care of myself.
93 is well beyond the average and it's a shame he had to "miss" the last ones.

I don't know how many of you have had to deal with someone who has Alzheimer's but for those of you who haven't let me tell you it's a horrible disease to see someone suffer from.

My grandmother spent the last 10 years of her life with Alzheimer's. She went from being the family historian, the one who could regale all the grandchildren with stories about her own grandparents, to someone who didn't recognize anyone in her own family and sometimes not even herself.

Like Baugh Fan says whether you lean left or right there's no question that Reagan left an indelible mark on this country and the world and to think that he spent the last decade of his life having no idea who he was or even what he had done in his life is truly sad.

I still remember when Riggins said after Super Bowl XVII something like "Reagan might be President, but tonight I'm king"

He will truley be missed, I saw on a show earlier tonight, the pass he threw to ricky sander's at the white house after we beat denver, that was a lot of fun.

My Dad was born 9 days after Ronal Reagan, and just died two months ago at 93 of a progressive dementia very similar to Alzheimers. It is gruesome to watch. I feel for Mr. Reagan's family.

My father was a Reagan man - he met him on several occasions, and was a delegate for him at the Republican convention in 1976. Having lost my grandmother and my wife's grandmother to this disease, I feel for the continued pain it brought upon the Reagan family, and hope that they, and much of the nation, can begin healing.

May he rest in peace. I'm happy for his family that his suffering is over, it must be hard to watch a loved one go through that so Godspeed to him and his.

Alzheimer's has got to be one of the worst things for a relative to see you go through. I've never witnessed it first hand, but I can only imagine.
