I would like to push all my chips in and say that the Redskins will be in the playoffs this year. I think the Panicky Petes will all be proven wrong and the Skins will rebound and make a big run at just the right time. I am absolutely confident that they will win 11 games this year.
I would like for everyone else to give a Yes or No on the playoffs (no ass-covering caveats or equivocation please). This way we can look back and see who was right and who was wrong.

im going to say yes just because im a fan and i want them to make the playoffs...but i think we will all havea better indication after this week's game against the texans. if we lose that game thats it, put a fork in us, if we win well lets hope that gives us enough momentum to string a few more together

11 wins? that would mean that we will only lose 3 more of the remaining 14 games...not very likely :(
I say we go 9-7, and that probably won't be good enough to make the playoffs :(

but we didnt lose to a team like the texans. thats why i say it is really dependant on if we win next week. the texans are probably the 2nd worst team in the league after oakland. if we lose to them...yeah i think realistically it is over but i will still be dreaming of the playoffs. last year was different, i thought we could win 5 straight because we had shown that the offense worked and the defense was awesome, this year we have shown neither so far. at least last year we had the defense

I guess I'm a "Panicy Pete", but I like to think I'm more of a realist. Let's say all of the problems, on both sides of the ball, are magically fixed by week eight. At that point they'll probably be 2-6, or 3-5 at the best. Even if they can win five out of the last eight games, that puts them at 7-9 or 8-8. No playoffs.

I think a 10-6 record gets us into the playoffs this year because there are some other typically strong NFC teams not looking so great this season. So...
vs vikings - L
@ cowboys - L
@texans - W
vs jags - L
@ giants - L
vs titans - W
@ colts - L
vs cowboys -W
@ eagles - W (their injuries are going to catch up with them soon)
@ bucs - W
vs panthers - W
vs falcons - L
vs eagles - W
@ saints - W
@ rams - W
vs giants - W
I guess that puts us in, barely.
(I thought "no" when I started writing this...interesting)

folks... we're one game out of first place. no need to abandon ship yet...
giants have a tough tough schedule...
eagles play us twice...
the boys aren't very good either....
theres a lot of games left to play...
The redskins WILL show up this year. It's just a matter of when. And Houston is looking more and more delicious as each day passes.

Its not about the record to me right now, were one game out of first, and we have plenty of time to make it up, its how were playing. If we fix the way we're playing the schedule will work itself out. If we continue to play even close to the way we have, we'll be picking with the #1 pick in next year's NFL draft.
However, if this team plays like we KNOW its capable of then watch out. The only question is wheather they will get their heads out of their asses soon enough to make a run, or if they'll be 2-5 by that time. I'm not really worried about any one player individually except Brunell, but I feel like if everyone else brings their game up a level, that he can be efficeint.
